No APU's, They do have bunk heaters, Idle time goals are 20% in winter and 30% in summer but they won't say anything till you are over 35%.
Truck still not ready to go yet. It'll be ready in the AM and I'm off to Scranton, PA to deliver on monday. My dispatcher said that back there they just broker something to get the truck right back out west. So until tomorrow i'm back in the hotel. Least the rooms are nice and they gave me $50 layover for having to wait another day. -
So if you're in Palm Springs mid-July, and you don't want to bake in the 115°F, you sleep outside under the trailer like they did before A/C because of CAs dumb (and deadly) no idle law?
Does Pride intend to equip with APUs anytime into the future? -
Thanks, I forgot about the flintlock. THAT is not considered a firearm, I think you would need a condo sleeper though. Think of all the fun it would be to light that thing up in a truck stop. The trucks next to you would think that the fog rolled in.

They trade their trucks to often to make APU's cost effective. All of Pride's trucks are Cali clean idle certified and as hard as they run you'd have to leave the truck on all the time to get over that 35% mark.SpaceCase Thanks this.

Just in case anyone is interested...Pride and CRE are connected through the corporate set-up...but that is the only way.
Jeff got incredibly frustrated at CRE at the way they treated their drivers...got in a big blow up with Daddy and Brothers, and went to grand dad for the initial formation of PRIDE...which is where the name stems from...PRIDE in your job, PRIDE in your rig, and Pride in yourself! and things haven't changed since day 1!
Very impressive company actually! -
I drive in CA everyday, Ontario to PHX than back, and i idle, i dont have a ca clean idle truck either, just as long as you park in a truck stop, you dont really have to worry about a ticket or anything. youre on private property, so you cant get a ticket
-
sorry but your wrong, before the big red shaft gave me a Cal clean idle truck I got a idling ticket at the Petro in wheeler ridge.
-
What you don't have to worry about is the CHP...they don't do the "clean air ticketing"...it's the Air Quality ?Control people....I had the CHP Lt. at Anderson Scale tell me that "you guys need to idle(?), park at a scale, we (CHP) don't have the authority to ticket for idling!"
