Just play by the rules and you won't have to worry about EOBR's.

    It's THAT simple.

My guess is that the fine is an incentive to get it done sooner rather than later.

My guess is that the threat of a fine goes away if all trucks are equiped prior to 3/2011.
Don't equip the trucks????? pay the fine and install the equipment too.

If this company does install EOBRs, it makes me wonder how much MORE of a danger they will be to other motorist, since they would have to drive when a computer tells them to, instead of when they feel refreshed.

I'd love to see the feds response to MORE accidents due to EOBRs being mandatory, than prior to having them.

Quite a slap in the face for a truck driver who sits in traffic burning up precious hours while they clean up the wreck of a couple 4 wheelers....which I see almost daily.

This just sounds strange to me ... more political maybe?

Kind of like a tax audit, I wonder what they really did to PO the administration?

Because - why just them? Why stop at one?

From what I understand, EOBR's are going to be mandatory for the bad actors out there that have a consistent problem with their logs and/or safety record.
