Well for better or worse I got my CDL Permit today the first time.. When I walked into the DMV office I felt extremely confident I would pass. The school I am going to did a good job to make sure I was prepared to take that exam.

Now for three weeks of learning how to drive the beastie..

thanks for the advice all, i guess im gonna have to make some sacrificies with the holidays, i also really cant change the date again cause my bills will start pilein up and i wont have that much cash too go down too salt lake city with soo i think i rather just go and get it done. What also sucks is the fact i got my class A Permit but they told me i gotta freakin retake the test again sucks but w/e, and also the fact of learning too drive in the snow:biggrin_2556:.....i guess the best training u can get it. hopefully everything goes well.

While your CDL is valid in all 50 states, your permit is only good in the state that issued it. Why SLC, Central has a school in NY?

yea thats what i was told but it was that hard for the permit tho. Well they have one upstate in buffallo NY but the problem is that one does not have dorms to stay at, thats why im going to the one in salt lake city, Utah

If you passed it once you can pass it again.. You'll have to transfer your license to Ut. and when you get back home transfer it back.

Lucky me my school is in NC and they have dorms.. Don't have to transfer back and forth.

I am going to a school in NC that is contracted by Central. Cool thing it's a small school. Even with the folks ahead of me there is a little over 30 people in the school.

I think its your DM. I have no problems getting loads in IN and IL. In the last 2 days I went from Chicago to Indianapolis (did some crap for the planner down there) then to Moberly, MO then back to Chicago and now on the way to Louisa KY. All within 4 days.

Well I am pretty much ready for winter and my excursions in the northern states. Since ALOT of drivers refuse to drive higher than I 70 in the winter. Got my Cold storage suit for when i need to get out of the truck and chain up. Getting my studded ice chains so I dont get stuck in truck stop parking lots or shipper drop yards. GI shovel to dig myself out of snow. Extra bulbs for the truck. 2 cases of water. And 2 first aid kits.

    Lock de-icer.
Start to swap out windshield washer fluid. I had to drain mine, kept trying to run it down and the shop kept topping off, even when I told them not too. Put some de-icer fluid in a spray bottle also, and keep it in a warm place. It will come in handy.
    Get extra paper towels too.
At least 2 pair of boots. So when one gets wet you can swap out.
I try and swap every other day anyway, so my sweat will dry and they stay fresh.
Extra blankets or an emergency sleeping bag. Just in case the truck breaks and you have no heat for hours.
