Well said and thanks for the positive posts! I'm in the middle of training right now, and trying to gather as much as I can from this forum (and other sites, people, etc.) The attitude some display on here has made me a little embarrassed to be getting into this profession, but it's people like you that redeem it all. Overall I've been impressed at the levelheadedness (<< is that a word?) of most of the members here. Here's to hoping that's displayed on the road! :occasion5:

Thanks Scrumdog. Yes there does seem to be a pretty good, and I think, above average lot of drivers here. Don't disregard the idiots though, because you will find all the types of people on the road that you find here! I just try to make the best of it. Hope you enjoy your new career. Well, if you resemble "Mr Ed" in a certain way, you might have caused her to drive right off the road!

My trainer years ago would get hotfire pissed if I didn't dim and thank you. He drilled that into me early on. Now I see it as just good driver etiquette. I mean, do any of us really need the driver to "tell" us when to come over? Nah. If you know anything at all, you know when you're clear. I hate the high-beamers, too, but some of the trucks out there won't let you dim lights when trailer spring brakes are released, so you have no choice. Personally it does bother me that that old time etiquette is dying/dead. When someone doesn't thank you flash, I just think what an #######. Hell, years ago if you didn't say thank you, that person might just get on the radio and call you out. Not anymore. :biggrin_25521: The only people I don't flash over are bullracks. What is it with those guys that they never say thank you? It's not even like they're blowing my doors off, I was usually running 75'ish.... Sigh.
