Is that a system only going in new trucks? 'cause as a rookie starting RDTC in a week I don't think I'll be seeing any of that new technology for a very long time.
-
every truck, sounds like anytime you come in for maintenance they are putting it on. all within the next few months i think
-
That sounds like a sweet deal then. What division are you in swenjj? I'm going refrigerated.

van national, looking into curtainside. thinking about reefer as well. but i am good here. i wish i knew a curtainside driver to talk to. its only a penny more a mile and you have to strap, but no tarping. not sure its worth it unless the loads are longer on average. especially when im happy where im at. i was thinking reefer because its a little more as well. but again,i have had some decent trips and i at least know my managers are good. would be tough to go to reefer and have 400 mile trips all the time or a bad manager. i know you gotta risk things sometimes but im not until im sure. this last few weeks were great, ill have 3000 miles on two checks in a row. ill need a reset here but two nice checks is a good thing. i had a 1300 mile trip to start, then a 600 mile trip with a new trailer and only 1700 pounds, next was a good trip with only 24k pounds, this one is 40k but its a nice 1100 mile trip as well. cant complain .... i have had some rough outtings too though, all 43k plus loads, short trips, .... it seems to average out though.

just adding, i have played with my time out alot, 23 days, 18, then to 11/3... i love the short time out but its not worth it, you get a good week then baby the hours to try and make it home, im settling in on the 18/4 program. it helped already, if not for that i wouldnt have been able to take this 1100 mile trip, probably would have had to get some shorter ones headed home already

swenjj, glad to see you are running well with Roehl, the e-log stuff should be fun. I go to orientation on the 29th in Gary.
-
I was originally going to goto RDTC to get my cdl, but I ended up going to a local school so I could continue working while going to school, I am ready to get this thing moving. The e-log will be something new as I was not taught how any of it works in school as we were shown how to keep a paper log, I guess it would'nt be a bad thing to still keep a paper log just to double check everything to see how the miles compare.
-
are you going van too? i will just make it to my relay then im having a reset, i had a ton of miles the last few weeks, very happy about that
so is my wife lol
