Suppport Thread for the TND 500, TND 700 or future Rand McNally products.

In Providence Rhode Island when you going 95 south to 195 east the exit is no longer a left exit. The unit tells to take exit on left. A new exit exit is now on the right.

 

I really hoped I wouldn't have to post here, but today my TND 500 took a crap on me.
It says:
Application Navi.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

Program: Navi.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005
Address: 003A0FD4

It was working pretty good for about 4 months and today when I woke it up from sleep it gave me this error. My PC is at home and I can't restore it on my MacBook.

Just want to add that restarting the GPS or pressing the reset button doesn't change anything. The message pops up every time I try to start it.

cc194217 is it possible for me to get a new SD card without sending in my unit?

 

My friend's TND 500 went to the reboot screen and now it gives the message "insert sd card". He tried a reboot from the back but still gets the same message. He has the newer version that doesnt have the sd card.

 

Sent you my serial number. Also I discovered that there is now a Mac update. I downloaded it to see if maybe that would help, but my MacBook Air refuses to recognize the TND 500 even though it says Connected on the GPS itself.

 

yes I did press the reset button. my manual is in my truck and my truck is in the shop. I won't get my truck until Sunday, I was hoping there might be some special way to reboot it.

 

I am very happy to write that my TND700 seems to be working correctly in every way. Over the weekend I connected the 700 to my laptop. My laptop seemed to turn on the unit and that seemed to solve the problem of the 700 Not turning pn. Funny thing though I used my camera connection cord for my computer to the 700 and it worked perfectly. The reason is because the units cord was in my semi at the shop....the camera cord looked the same....sometimes its better to be lucky than good. All the best Mark, Rick

 

im still waiting to get to iowa to get my new unit. i sent it in to get exchanged like a month and a half ago and havent hit iowa since. BUT tonight hopefully i will get it. ijm super excited to get it because up to now i have been using a tomtom car unit. which is fine but has got me in some pretty tight (pun intended) spots. bridges, strets, areas NEVER even thought of for a truck to grace the presence of. but gotten out of all places without a scratch.
