Years ago, when I first began "internetting" (lol) , it would bother me to read things that I had to "decipher".
I hadn't been around other people who didn't have my advantages in school.

HOWEVER, I would have NEVER DELIBERATELY pointed out to someone that they HADN'T!!

The OP here, is ....oh, wait...I won't say it ....I...I.....oh, heck, I GOTTA...OBNOXIOUS and RUDE!.

I'd much rather try to decifer poor spelling from an experienced driver who is trying to say something that will be beneficial to a new driver, rather than a few posters here who constantly post juvenile insults or cracks about a poster's grammar, or questions they ask, or trying to be cute; then you watch these same posters on their You tube channels posting videos showing them boo..hoo'ing because Swift..or Werner...or any of the other 5 companies they have driven for in the last 2 years "suck and did them wrong."

 

I appreciate proper grammar. I also appreciate good advice or an entertaining story, or someones experience. Especially if that person is accepted despite or in spite of grammar. OP, you hit the nail on the head, yet miss the point entirely.

"personnal" (personal)

"on my own thread." ("in" would be better)

"to not come across (infinitive splitting is not allowed on this board!)

truely (Vanna sold you one too many vowels)

"but will happily read any additional replies." (Don't read these replies. Go back and spend time reading the posts you are criticizing. There's a wealth of knowledge in them.....believe me, I know!!!)

When a person deigns to point fingers at others, that person must remember that they have three more, pointing back at themselves.

you gotta realize you're in the blue collar work force, some of the greatest tradesmen whatever it is be it truck driving, carpenter, plumber etc might be the dumbest people you meet, but they are very good at their job. dont let anyone bs you, let their actions speak. if someone is well versed in typing and spelling, and is claiming to be a professional in whatever field they're in, but have yet to have any length of employment, you might not wanna be listening to them. who you wanna listen to is the business owner who has weathered the bad economies, kept themselves profitable and kept employee's on. actions speak louder the words.

 

You mean like the ones that may not be able to spell the greatest or know proper grammar but have still kept themselves profitable in this industry in this economy????? Hmmmm.......go figure

 

Bingo. I try not to, but when reading I imagine someone actually speaking and it just gets out of hand sometimes.

The problem is that spell checker only fixes typos. Everyone makes mistakes, but what I think the OP is getting at is something different.
Homonyms are a big issue, such as:
-there, their, they're
-to, too, two


I think it's just very important to keep in mind that education levels are all over the place, especially in this industry. Many guys/gals maybe have a harder time with posting on a forum, yet are in a place with their business that we hope to be. I love the fact that I can log onto TTR and find answers to questions I hadn't even thought of asking yet. I'm aware I often come across as an ### on here largely because tone and real meaning are lost in the text and no one can see my dumb grin! I'd be happy to trade my issues in for one person's spelling and grammar issues.
