i was looking here (http://www.truckfridge.com/acdc_models.html) for a fridge for my Kenworth T660. Going to take it to a KW dealership next weekend, i'm just going to call them tomorrow and see how much one would be to have it ordered and installed next weekend. I want it to look good...not just some after-market fridge thrown in there with gaps all around it, so it bounces around, etc.

    i'm sure it'll run me $800 bought and installed....maybe less? (i hope)

hey redd.. dont have anything positive to say to me, dont bother even using my quote. i could care less about your opinion. why not just say "$800 is slightly low, it cost me $1000". is 800 in the ballpark? so i'm close. wow...a whole $200 off.......seriously....

Aren't you all riled up! $200 isn't even close to your figures!! Remember? Your now a know it all wannabe owner operator with Swift!

If you want to be an owner operator, ball park figured don't mean squat!

ESTIMATES are just that a guess/ballpark figure. Talk about the subject at hand NOT insulting/attacking other posters!

I drove a columbia for a while a couple of years ago. If you can swing it, try to get a factory fridge to fit. I found a cooler once that 'sort of' fit. It left a fair bit of room wasted around it and a proper unit would have been better for sure. I have no idea how much they will run you though.

I priced a fridge that is for the T2000 I drive. Obviously someone took the factory one out. 700 bucks. Geez....so I tried one of those that plug into a cig lighter. Not what I wanted.

I ended up getting one from Lowes(wife works there). Ended up getting this one

    [IMG]http://www.lowes.com/pd_326293-4722.../pl_100+200_5003700__s?Ntt=small+refrigarator

It was too big for the opening so I folded down my top bunk and strapped it down there. I run a 1500 watt inverter and have no issues with it. Even if I run the microwave, toaster or coffee pot.

I just couldn't spring for a factory style fridge.....too much dollars.

Find out how much of a markup your dealer is going to put on this, my Cat dealer marks everything up 47%... I saved over $225 on a clutch job because I paid for the clutch and had it delivered to the shop. I have never seen a truck fridge at a dealer for under $700.

If you're mechanically inclined at all, you can put this in yourself. I stopped in Ky, bought mine took it home and installed it in 30 minutes. Attaching 2 wires and 4 screws to hold it in is all there is to it, the trim even comes with the fridge.

The unit is $479 and shipping is free for now, if you have an honest dealer they should charge you no more than 1 hour to install it....but that's still $100 to $140 or so that can stay in your pocket. If anything, you buy it and have it shipped to the dealership.

Don't get the ac/dc, get this one and save $100 it's all you need, actually the same one I bought 2 years ago and am still happy with.
