It would be nice if more members would put forth the effort to try and improve their grammar.
I think this is a good topic and deserves debate.
You seem to have given a few members something to argue about though. Lol

 

You know, it drives me nuts when people use bad grammar, because I always thought it was just plain lazy.

Having said that, who gives a rats ###. I made the same mistake a few days ago about posting that someone should clean up their grammar. I got my ### reamed, and I deserved it. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Some of the people on this forum may be a little 'unpolished' but that DOES NOT MEAN THEY DON"T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT! You can get any bozo at Harvard to come down here and lecture about good grammar all day long and it won't mean squat.

What do people think is going to come of posts like this? Do you really think these guys are going to up and say 'Golly, he's right! I'll go back to school and learn to spell correctly, just to impress some ######### on a forum I have never met before!'

I take pride in how I write. That does not make me the greatest driver ever, and I'll be the first to admit I am not. My shifting sucks, I need to work on backing, and I drive slow. So who are you going to listen to here?

There should be a sticky about correcting spelling and grammar.

 

I had to find this post nana was talking about that you got kicked around for grammar nazi tactics...and once I found it, I replied there, not that you will read it, people like you, are simply ignorant. They spout off, talk smack, and think they are acting like a educated person, a holy person, a better than you person, or a helpful person.

But they are all just being one thing: A jerk.
Someone who has no real meaningful information to share, but wanna talk so that they can have attention. Someone who finds them self loving every minute of attention, even the negative kind, because momma don't hug them enough.

I know, because I was you as a teenager and I let it get the best of me still sometimes. But know this, make friends here, or your going to have a long, hard education. Well, you will anyway, but it will be far harder, when you find out the trucker that was going to feed you or help you get home, or help with a broken down truck, realizes your the same turd that was a jerk on a forum built on the basis of helping others.

I'm vindictive like that, not everyone is, but I remember things, and I carry it with me, its made me older than I should be, but it also has served me well.

Some people love everyone, even jerks, I hope you find more of them than you do of people like me.

I don't see the need to follow the lead, set forth by others, that there is some kind of a need to come to the defense of the weaker members.
Individuals should take pride in themselves and their ability to grasp their own language, even embrace it.

We have all," been there done that". It is simply a learning process, for those that wish to learn. Whether you are 5 years old or 95.
The OP was not insulting anyone, yet trying to bring attention to an age old problem. I agree," if this can help one person", then something positive has come from his thread.
