I think something one finds down the road (figuratively), is that spelling and grammar pale in comparison to the importance of tact. Some have none and it shows. Unfortunately those that need to heed this advice are exactly the ones who will take it personally and come back with an arrogant reply... :biggrin_25511:

Tact has nothing to do with driving a big rig.

What I find interesting is that so many of the complainers are also the ones that are slack with spelling, punctuation and grammar.

They can't seem to take the time to spell check, or to make sure their posts make sense (not since), then (not than) hit the post button.

Sorry, but how you post makes a world of difference to how other perceive you.
It shows that you are either literate and care, or are ignorant and sloppy.

And that, in my opinion, also equates to other fields of endeavor. Like being a truck driver.

If you can't take the time when you are posting, do you also skip over essentials when driving?

Attention to details is all important in this field, wouldn't you agree?

What I agree with is the policy of The Trucker's Report concerning insulting other posters over their writing skills. I'll also agree that shadowlurker continues to bash other posters on this thread and the original thread despite his persistant posts claiming not to.

Actually you are wrong. The OP began this thread to continue a discussion which he began by insulting Southernpride.

Why yes Judi Kay I do believe the "reality" of the situation is that of a disgruntled ex member who has resurfaced like a bad "check" at the grocery store. I do believe I smell Col. Sanders.

You know what Judi Kay: despite that person's psychotic hatred of me and their destructive behavior on the forum, they gave a great deal of help to many people. I for one wish that individual would have been able to control their destructiveness and remained on the forum. But then again.....I still believe in Santa.

Alright! The sole purpose of this thread is to continue attacking a man who, I will repeat here, stared Death in the eyes and spit in his face. A man who has more years in trucking than most of us have been alive. I just can't tolerate this kind of disrespect.

I don't give a hair off a rat's behind who the O/P thinks he or she is. "Book learnin" doesn't mean squat out here on the road. Need proof? Look at the quality of police officers nowadays. Used to be if you had common sense, were physically fit and had a bit of street smarts, you could get a job in law enforcement. Those old beat cops knew their areas, who was supposed to be there and could stop a crime before it ever happened. They were some tough old birds who everyone respected.

Then the college kids took over. Most police forces require a four year degree now. And we have a lot of officers who can't think on their feet, can't run, can't talk to people, drive around in their cars writing tickets and waiting for the radio to go off so they can respond to a crime that has already happened and can't do anything without backup. They have no idea who is supposed to be in the neighborhood they are patrolling and can't figure out a simple theft case without the aid of a forensic lab and a computer. They have no natural instinct left because it was educated out of them. And now, people are getting shot who could have been dealt with otherwise.

It sadly appears the trucking industry is headed the same direction. You want to be around people with higher education? Go be a college professor at some Liberal establishment where it's expected to look down your nose at the "unwashed masses."

Leave Southernpride alone! If you don't like his writing style, put him on ignore and forget about it! But LEAVE THAT MAN ALONE!!!

    Get it?
