You got screwed...in a big way. I put one in my 379 for under $500.

I didn't get screwed because I didn't buy it. Factory made models are much higher then those sold at truckfridge.com. Dick said he was going to KW to get a fridge... Whats he going to get from KW? A factory model!

I have a mini fridge I purchased at WalMart for $79 and I am running it and my computer/cell phone on a 400 watt inverter without any problems. The fridge is a Black and Decker unit and works great. I have it strapped to the front passenger seat and I can reach over and get a cold drink any time I feel like it.

I bought a similar one and just set it on the floor. It only lasted 6 months.
I do not think it could handle the rough ride.
I am using a cooler now.

I bought a Waeco from a KW dealer. Installed it in my T2000. They make the private label refrigerators for KW, Freightliner and Pete. Had a list of $700, paid 545 after twisting the dealers arm a bit.
Fit's neatly into the framework, plugs into the existing electric harness. Works like a champ. If you don't have the 12v circuit, there is an inverter available that you can plug into an existing inverter or wire directly to the truck. Think it was $50.
Same refrigerator is available thru Iowa 80. Has a small freezer compartment that will hold about two budget gormets or in my case, three baggies of ice that I use for cold drinks.

LOL....if mine only last six months, I'll be taking it back to Lowes. My wife works there and it will get replaced. I expect a year from it, at least. I do wonder about the longevity of it due to the ride but like I said.....six months is not enough, IMO.

It does work great, nonetheless. If I have it turned up past 6, it freezes anything on the top shelf, below the little freezer compartment.

And I've tried the cooler types and just didn't like them. The Black and Decker from Wally World is not technically a fridge. At least not the one I looked at. It was like 75 bucks but it was more of a cooler type. I wanted a fridge.

I'd love to have a OEM fridge for the truck. Like I said, though, the KW dealer quoted me 700 bucks or more. Even the 545 would be hard pressed for me to spend. As of now, I keep my printer and accessories in the area the OEM fridge is suppose to be. lol

Got the same one about a month ago and it works great for me. Need to defrost it every week, or so, but that's not a big deal.

Only problem I have is that it doesn't fit anywhere other than on the floor in front of my bunk, so it takes up all that space I would use to get dressed in the morning. Upside is that I can grab it from the drivers seat and pull it to where I can get anything I want out of it while I am driving.

Check out RV fridge's they cost less and they work on 12volt so you don't have to use your inverter.....

That 12 volt Road Pro cooler/fridge(whatever you want to call it) that I had(and returned) would sure drain the battery if I left it plugged in when I was home. The fridge I run now off of my inverter doesn't cause any issues. It was setting for a day and a half when I fired up a bit ago.

The 12 volt stuff I just had bad experience with, I guess.

I got mine at Walmart. I have to find the receipt and find out about the warranty. While it worked I loved it. I could reach back and grab my half gallon of milk and have a drink.
Even a year is not long enough.
