Rumor???

Ya know Nana, I'd love to meet you and hubby, but, I'd rather take those little rascals of yours to Chucky Cheese or some such place and just watch 'em rip! -

I have to say I've been chained to the spanking post here a time or two when making a comment regarding spelling, grammar, puctuation, capitalization, sentence structure and/or clarity of thought presented in a sentence or paragraph. There has been a time or three where a person may have no idea what the poster is typing about, or you need to guess it's so bad!
Yet, it does not matter. It has been presented that it is not important how well a thought is conveyed. As long as you can at least pull out the thought, it's the thought (or "what's said") that matters. I agree with that actually, after all, who am I to judge? However, if the post is just too difficult to follow due to lack of writing ability I just skip over it...
There are pursuits where a persons written command of his or her language is paramount, but this isn't one of them. That's not an insult, as that very thought has been presented to me more than once here when I've made comment about a post being difficult to follow due to lack of punctuation, capitalization, run-on sentences and unrecognizable sentence structure. It is me that has to learn to deal with it, if it is a problem for me. I get that.
So, read on fair poster as there is a wealth of information here at this forum and I have benefited greatly. ...As an added bonus, most of it is readable! -
Tut, ya got class dude! And, you cut to the chase on this issue. One thing I might add here. If a reader of a post is capable, because of prior education in grammar, structure, punctuation, etc., of pointing out the flaws, then that poster is also capable of restructuring (in his/her own mind) the grammar and structure, plus, he/she can (in his/her own mind) add the punctuation. Net result: an effin' A learning experience from one of the old hands that has taken the time to help us newbies!simplyred1962 Thanks this.

Nothing about this thread is about driving a truck. If you want to make inferences, then one could argue that tact is still more valuable while on the job than any amount of writing ability.
What I find most telling is the fact that some would place their need to have others believe them to be intelligent, over any regard for another person's dignity or feelings.
I used to teach English as a second language, so trust me, I get the importance of communication in every form. While technically spelling correctly (not really), some are still #### at communicating. Do you find others defending themselves or another after you post? If so, you might just be a ###### communicator regardless of spelling/grammar/punctuation/structure. I make mistakes all the time and the day I point out everyone else's typing issues is the day it will all be heaped back on my head. -
Said it once I'll say it again
The simplest way to rectify it is by not reading the posts that irk you because of their spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Read the ones that make you happy and leave the others be. However, there is no reason to come on and call people out because they do not write a post the way you think they should write them. A lot of the seasoned drivers that you are talking about are highly respected on the forum and others do not take kindly to them being berated over something so silly when they are taking time out of their day to try to help you in the first place.
