>>>>Swift Transportation calculates mileage using a software program that, on average, underpays drivers by 7 percent to 10 percent.
I thought this was almost standard, do you think will reach other companies and/or get them to pay actual from now on?!?!?

This could set a precedent if Swift loses.
rookietrucker and CondoCruiser Thank this. -
Most companies are paying pratical miles now. I don't know of very many that are using the short book miles anymore. Still actual would be to pay hub miles. That's not going to happen because all a driver would have to do is take the longest route to get the loads delivered to get the most money. That's why companies stopped doing it back in the 70's and 80's. The companies saw they were getting screwed over by drivers that either didn't know the shortest route or just went out of route on purpose.

I worked for Swift during the times stated in the report. I wonder how much money I will recieve. I drove for M.S. Carriers for 1 1/2 years and another 6 months after Swift took over. I knew they were screwing me over that's why I quit.
I sure wish M.S. Carriers was still in business. That was one heck of a company to work for.scottied67 Thanks this. -
What was SWIFT doing differently as far as pay? -
-
Alot of companies pay that way because that's the way the shipper pays. I think it's mover miles where the shortest route is suppose to be used even though it's not truck friendly. Tyson even puts the miles on the bills and you can expect it to be around 7-10% further.
I hope they win and it sets a precedent. It's time the driver stops getting screwed.
