FDA cautions consumers about buying counterfeit drugs online
For many truckers, scheduling home time to get in to see their doctors or even to get their prescriptions refilled at their local pharmacies is such a hassle that they – along with many U.S. consumers – are turning to the Internet for their prescription needs.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently announced results after a yearlong investigation into drugs mailed to the United States from foreign countries. The study found that many consumers are choosing the Internet route for ordering their prescription medications to avoid paying for a doctor’s visit to obtain a prescription.
However, FDA officials are cautioning consumers that buying medications on the Internet may be a “risky” business, especially when many of the drugs are not from legitimate FDA-approved Web sites. Some of the drugs are counterfeits and do not offer the benefits that legitimate versions of the medications provide.
While consumers may avoid the up-front cost of seeing a physician, they may be paying a much higher price, a press release from the FDA warned. Many of the drugs consumers are ordering online are also available at U.S. pharmacies at a cheaper price and include FDA-approved generic medications, but do require a prescription.

All Wallyworld's have 4 dollar generics now. The best option I see for truckers would be to get to the local "jiffy quick clinic" and get a prescription (take your bottle with you if it is something you take on a regular basis), then head to wallyworld and get the generic.

I take drugs for cholesterol and have 5 month refills, but can hit the local quick clinic to get a prescription for a 30 day supply until I get can back to my regular doctor.

So, the guv'mint is getting its knickers in a knot over people stepping outside its narrow lane of "approved" businesses to conduct private commerce.

    Figures.

I've been getting my prescription drugs online from outside the US for years now, without an issue. They are the exact same drugs we are sold here in the US, except they were exported. Unfortunately, last month, the pharmacy had to cease business with their US customers due to having their ISP shut down by a group that represents the major US BigPharma companies.

All the hype is over protecting corporate profits, and all the laws coming out are to protect market interests. I know many who prefer getting their meds over the internet for a whole bunch of reasons, mostly because they save 80% on the cost (even after factoring in shipping and such).

Thanks CA. There's a commercial out about that now. They state they are not FDA regulated. They could be fake or not quite the right thing. Trying everything to turn you against it. If I could get my meds cheaper, I would. The part of my junk email filling up with offers is a turn off.
