There is no such thing as "Fair Trade"....Any agreement we make with a foreign government will benefit that government more than it will benefit the average Joe in America....

Look at it this way....Canadians carriers are supposed to run "point to point"...We all know that most adhere to that rule...But many break it to make more money....What makes anyone think the Mexican carriers will be any different?....

When money is involved...some people can't handle playing by the rules....It's human nature....

Why is it that we can trade with Canada with very little issues, but when it comes down to doing business with Mexico there's conflict and problems involved? I'll just play the "I don't get it" card for now.

Could be that Americans and Canadians share similar cultural values.....
Mexico is still under Roman law.....And the fact that the "Bandito" is much more admired than the cop in their culture...Oh wait....They're the same people...Except one has has a badge while they're robbing you....My bad....

Also don't forget, our cost of living is almost the same.
A Mexico based truck driver could make .20 per mile and be happy. If Canadian/USA driver get's the same rate we would go bankrupt.

That is only a few CPM less than some of our "better" training companies pay now.

But it's okay if the U.S. farmer ends up under a bridge?

Kick Mexico's ###, and hopefully no one ends up under the bridge.

And I suppose we should go back to fighting wars with swords and shields to keep the sword smiths in business?

Nobodies special interest is more important than national security, and if those business owners cannot adapt to a changing world ... why should we sacrifice security for them?

How about selling more crops to other nations?

    How about growing alternative crops?

Or just sell the land and let someone else make it work.

I'd say check any recent news events from Mexico, then compare them to those from Canada.
