Hello All,
I am researching driving opportunities and am considering May Trucking.
Thanks to all who have taken the time and effort to contribute to the various threads on this forum, very helpful.
I live about 35 miles from the Brooks Oregon facility, and would be on the 11-Western dry fleet.
My initial question is regarding home time.
Being 11-West, and living in the Brooks vicinity, are you able to get by the house more than every 2 to 3 weeks, even if only for your 10hr, or meal/laundry/etc?
Does May allow stopping if it fits with your load schedule?
How much of their freight is involved near the Portland Oregon area?
For those on the 11-West fleet, is there a "typical" time out on the road?
Thanks.

To sum up your questions in a few sentences. 11 western and living near the Portland area work out real well, You would be through the house often! It is the ideal place to live and drive for May trucking company!
Any more questions ? I would be happy to respond to them!Ride-On Thanks this. -
i live on Phoenix,az area (Gilbert,az) and in my month i've been with may i have gone through the brooks yard at LEAST once a week. starting out did a lot of runs between CA,OR,WA up and down the I-5. so you're in a pretty good location for being able to come home often. granted they will not allow you to take the rig to your house, you can still park it at the brooks yard and drive home from there even if it's only for your 10hr, as long as you deliver on time, they don't care if you run home real quick (not in the truck of course)

That is exactly right. When I was dry side I had no problem at all getting around to the OR area. Heck even on the ref side I'm here every other week normally! Take care brother, I like your comment BTW. Peace! -
thanks Steve, to add to the hometime thing, you don't always HAVE to take home time AT HOME, although they told me "we usually don't allow hometime away from your home location" i recently put in for hometime at my fathers place in Pasco,WA which is nowhere near any may terminal, it was aprooved, just going to leave my rig at the flying j in Pasco and visit my family for a few days. so just sweet talk them, be nice about it and you'll get far

and hey Steve, look for me out there wouldja? i'm in a pete 387, #4393 always wear a baseball cap and usually write something funny on the back of my trailer if it's dirty (shhhhhh don't tell May) the one i have now reads "YEP... I'M LOST"
ALSO: i heard Kermit got the very first of the new KW's May just purchased. cool stuff, you better be next.

Yeah that is in fact the truth! I personally take time off every where. I have family all over the globe, May trucking company has accommodated me in every way possible. I also run a production company aside from being a company driver for May trucking company. May has treated me with nothing but respect to my wishes, I treat them like wise!
Take care trucker, be safe on that big road!Ride-On Thanks this. -
Is it true that you are the responsible party in reference to Richard Goon's missing pink panties?
Did Ryan really get fired from Swift because of an allegation that involved midget male strippers and sheep?
Is that YouTube video that had a fat bast@#d run from the cops, real or fake?
Are you the real "Trucker Steve" or are you just playing one on TV?
Do you ever answer your phone?
Thanks in advance for your answers to my questions.

Where do you usually park around Tampa? I got into the Flying J on I-4 at Mango a couple times but it's very rare that there's room there. I ended up resigning to the fact that the easiest was to just top at exit 285 in San Antonio on I-75. I'm just wondering if you know something that I don't about available parking.
Oh, I refuse to give those people at the 301 truckstop 1 penny to park at their dirt bag truckstop. If I'm going to pay I'll just park at the T/A across form the Flying J.
Thanks. -

Take care Super trucker mac Daddy!
