You're wrong. We need to get diesel bear in here. All it takes is 8 hours to reset a 14 going into a split sleeper.
You are trying to add work time across a break.
Read the last paragraph again.

I PMed diesel bear.
He'll set this straight as he's da man! -
Depends on what question people are answering.
Post number 62 is what I answered.
Don't know about anybody else. -
It's confusing when the entire threads are NOT read.
Then everybody just answers the last post or two........... -
Presume you have 70 / 14 available. It's 00:00 Midnight/Off Duty.
01:00-01:15 pretrip (1/4 hour).
01:15-04:15 driving (3 hours).
04:15-06:15 sleeper (2 hours).
06:15-06:45 meal (1/2 hour).
06:45-14:45 driving (8 hours). You can work more, but no more driving.
14:45-22:45 sleeper (8 hours). Mandatory Sleeper on split.
22:45-01:45 driving ( 3 hours). Max drive time because of split used prior.
01:45-03:45 sleeper (2 hours).
This show be enough to illustrate.
Any how this little nasty cycle continues till you take 10 hours either off duty or sleeper. Also by the way you can combine Line 1 and line 2 on the 8 hour or the 10 hour sleeper berth but not the 2 hour. Using Line 1 during the 8 hour may get you ask questions if it excessive by DOT.
I do sometime use the split to accommodate loading times, but for the most part I thinks it just get drivers into trouble not understanding it.
Splitting does not reset your 10 hour drive clock, it only allows you to finish off the 10 you already started. For new drivers I strongly recommend do not use Da Split.CondoCruiser Thanks this. -
We are all answering post 62 now as it pertains to post 1 with a twist. Post 1 even says all that is needed is a 8 hour break.
Some threads do a 180, this one only done a 90

This log book stuff is very simple, but most drivers do not understand it because it is not taught properly to start with. But the example I show show help you. Also there is excellent lo cost software at Drivers Daily Log . com.
I give a lot of crap in fun to people here, but this is important and can cost you money if you get it wrong. The only thing that resets your 11/14 hour clock is a full continuous 10 hours line 1 or 2, or combination of lines 1 & 2 that equal 10 hours.
You can get ahold of log r us, on this board also for claification. -
well sorry to have everyone confused, i thought it was a simple question
maybe you need to get out your log books and follow me cuz i know how it works when you got breaks taken in the 14 so here goes:
7:30 am> stop 1 1 hr on duty not driving; <pretrip unload>
8:30 am> 3.75 hr on duty driving
12:15 > stop 2 1 hr on duty not driving <unload>
1:15 pm > 2 hr on duty driving
3:15 pm > stop 3 1 hr on duty not driving <unload>
4:15 pm 1.5 hr on duty driving
5:45 pm > stop 4 .75 hr on duty not driving <load>
6:30 pm > 2.25 hrs on duty driving
8:45 pm > stop 5 .75 hr on duty not driving <load>
9:30 pm 14 hours are up---- to the bunk
CAN I LEAVE AFTER 8 HOURS IN THE BUNK TO MAKE MY LAST AND FINAL APPOINTMENT BY 7am?????? -
the last stop is 1 hr away could i legally be there at 7 am?
