What method or website do you guys use to get the average rate's per mile? We are looking into submitting a bid into a new lane that we are not too familiar with, as far as rates go. Any suggestions? I have used the avg rate off of the loadboards but have noticed they are innacurate a lot of the time

The only way to get an accurate rate is to figure YOUR cost per mile.... Then add what ever profit you intend or wish to make. That will be your bid price.

I think they're talking about an accurate rate index for a given freight lane. Am I right?
Are you using load boards you are signed on for, or are you using the rate index provided in the free trials? I've heard they're way off. -
^ Paddle that is correct. Using load boards I am signed on.

That could be. I guess I got confused when the OP said....
Cause to me.... If I'm submitting a bid for freight.... I'm gonna use my numbers..... Not numbers off a indexPaddletrucker Thanks this. -
I would like to use an index to get a feel of what the rpm is for such a lane. I would go off of that to make my own
