From an earlier post in the owner operator forum I determined that being a hotshot with a CDL is going to be complicated and the thread did not help me much. Now I see that I can post hear in the newbe section so I will try again.
I have never been a trucker but want to do it part time using two diesel pickups and two or three flat bed trailers. I just finished setting up an LLC and got my Missouri for hire license (NOT A CDL).
The advice I am looking for is how do I get started with the Internet finding part time loads. I am concerned that the Internet will cater to large trucks and that many of the websites really just want to take your money. I assume that those who are hotshots eventually find a set of clients and establish a relationship with them but; thats not where I want to startor can start?
What I am hoping for is advice from current hotshot drivers about fining loads.
I also do not plan on getting a CDL because it sounds like it makes things more complicated and is not needed for the light loads I have in mind.
I really hope there is at least one (FOR HIRE NOT CDL HOTSHOT) out there that can point me in the right direction.
P.s----from my last attempt at getting help-- I noticed a lot of NAY-SAYERS showed up: so don't bother I know I want to do this, and will do this, I do not need to make much money as I am already 45 and retired from a different job; and will be doing other things along with driving.
