A recruiter wouldn't lie would he? LMAO! I asked him point blank if I could run company solo and he said yes. Not that I believed him wholeheartedly. I try to take it all with a grain of salt.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one jumping from the frying pan into the fire!

I verified today that I am getting the $1,000 tuition discount for starting the week of Thanksgiving. At 18% interest, I need all the help I can get as far as discounts go. I am starting to get more nervous and excited as Saturday draws near. Wishing everyone else well...

Good Luck Jasper!!! Don't let anyone talk you down. Just do what you feel is right and tell everyone else to kiss your arse.

Thanks AF461, that's pretty much been my battle today. My dad called earlier and told me I shouldn't go because my mom is worried about me. He also noted that they googled CR England and that it's not a good company to work for. Keep in mind that my parents love to knock truck driving and think every truck driver is a zombie meth head. This isn't the first time and won't be the last time I go against my parents wishes. I'm 24, I live 400 miles from my parents with my wife & kids. I'm a big kid now! And being a truck driver has been my dream for years and I'm just tickled to death to get the ball rolling!

As long as you've done your research and you feel 100% comfortable with it and your wife and kids have your back then that's all that matters. Like you said, your 24 years old. You are old enough to make your decisions. Just please think about your lovely wife and kids before making any major financial decisions. I've heard of a lot of new truckers taking the leap and before you know it, they have fallen to far. I wish you the best and will be watching your posts.
Remember, trucking is a temporary job, your family is a lifetime!jasper_truck86 Thanks this. -
Thanks, this was definitely something my wife and I discussed long and hard before making this decision. I know everybody is different but this just feels like the right situation for us.

When you are getting your CDL permit with England, do you only take the general knowledge, combo, and air brakes test or do they also have you take the Hazmat test as well? I may have asked this already but it's been so hectic I forgot whether I did or not. My apologies if so.
