Looks like you saw yourself in my statement. Thats good because I didn't direct it at anyone in particular. And yeah, It sounds like you got a problem. If you were half the driver you think you are, you wouldn't have to keep telling yourself and others about it. Your DMV record ain't were it stops either bud, any wheel twister freight hauler could go three years without a ticket. Unlike you, I don't need to convince anyone of my ability to drive a truck, though I could probably jump in your truck and do your job better than you could do mine. You probably couldn't drive a loaded smoothbore tanker through a parking lot.

    outerspacehillbilly Thanks this.

Is this clown really still trying to convince himself that he is the greatest thing since sliced bread? :biggrin_2554: It must be terrible to be the kid that never got enough attention. Even though I can't read your post here is a star for you Mr Cullum I hope it makes you feel better about yourself. :tongueSTARS7::biggrin_25517:

never said i was the greatest thing since sliced bread far from it,still have a lot to learn unlike you other guys that seem to have all the answers and need to criticize new drivers to somehow make yourself feel superior.again im admitting my shortcomings, any body else that feels comfortable enough w/themselves that could do the same, lets see it.that makes me the clown hahahahahaha,im secure enough to put my real name in here, and be a man.all you other guys hide behind some moniker so you can belittle and have know chance of reprisal if called out again wimps.

I don't know if would call it disrespect. That sort of implies that you deserved respect. I have been driving truck for 3 years, the same as you. I am just as wet behind the ears as you say and you are right there with me. You ain't got much on me, and you ain't got nothing on these guys with 10 or more years. And yeah, I'm 22. what are you 23? Whats your point? Im supprised you'd even bring up age given the childish way you been carrying on. All of a sudden years matter with you. So much for contradictions. Anyway I'll move on and let it die if you will.

im not the one ragging on newbies, you think ragging on newbies is grown up.LMAO,FOR THE RECORD IM 47 YEARS OLD,was taught to respect the feelings of others growing up,unlike the me generation of today, who feels that they are entitled w/out actually having to earn.you guys talk i about me,im surprised that you actually mentioned the fact your wet behind the ears, now i can respect that.thats what i was waiting to see from anybody on this thread, kudos.to me this is just like in school when i would stand up to the school bullies for the ones that couldnt,or wouldnt because they were scared of what might happen.no different, bullies gang up on somebody because they are only strong enough to do that when they are in a group.i have to give you respect trk/driver man enough to at least admit you have shortcomings, that was a pleasant surprise, and yes ronin i know, again i tried to let it lie,but this one guy wants to get the last jab.now you can see ive complimented him on his courage to admit his shortcomins, the only one other than you and me,lets see what happens, and yes im childish at times, another one of my shortcomings.man enough to admit it,w/my name in here for all to see.

    Gaw-LEE!

First, someone gets his knickers in a knot over people with experience ragging on someone without experience, saying they should get out and help instead of b**** about them. Then he says he has a command of the written English language, but simply can't be bothered to hit a few extra keys because it might take too much time out of his busy day and goes on to say that raw number of years of experience don't add up to a vast amount of knowledge. I am inclined to agree with him on this last point, but for different reasons than he lays out.

But then he talks smack to a young man who, while young, seems to have his head tied on about right. And the only thing he can say to this young feller is basically, "You don't know anything because you have less time in life than I do." He wants this young guy to "respect his elders" but doesn't want to listen to the longer experience of others. Is this a paradox, or am I missing something?

Now. Regarding that experience thing: I have run into it too, both here and out on the road. If someone has actual direct experience in what they are talking about (like the inner workings of a company) then, by all means, talk and I will listen. However, if someone does not know how a particular company works because they've never been inside it and are only going off of rumor and hearsay, you betcha I will sass back to them. Even if they have 50 years in the biz. But that's not what's being discussed here.

This topic is general driving knowledge, industry attitude and vehicle operations. I believe I'll sit on the bench and listen to what Redd, OSHB, Les, BW9 and Southernpride, among others, have to say about it while filtering out the other BS. Because in these particular areas, they are far more knowledgeable than I.
