While opening my oil fill cap on the inside of tube I noticed very, very tiny drops of what appear to be a awaterr based liquid. no milky type like when ya have a major prob, just like sweat, probably 1/20 of a rain drop. pulled out filler tube (I have a coe) & looked inside & saw more of the same on side of inside tube. like I say very small. is this a normal accurance? could there be a reason for this. oil on stick looks fine. oil press fine. everyhting checks out o.k. just looking at these tiny droplets of water & wondering if it is just the weather temp extremes or could it be the beginning of something else. thanks for your opinion

A long fill tube can have more condensation. Do you have oil samples checked when you change your oil? If they are coming back good, no problem!!

I never had oil samples checked. I notice the slight blowby coming out the bottom pipe. I am told that is normal & the pressure has to go somewhere. looks like pufs of steam, was thinking if the blow by tube was parlty clogged the steam would create condensation & perhaps show where I am seeing it. I really dont hink it is clogged. it does puff out the bottom as if it's working as should. my filler tube is like a tunnel. 3 ft long approx.

some condensation can be normal, due to the continuous heating and cooling of the engine oil during normal operation (like fuel does also) moist air can enter the crankcase area and when the oil reaches normal operating temps the moisture is seperated from the oil and tries to escape. hope this makes sense. i would rec that you do a oil sample just to make sure coolant is not getting past the cylinder "O" ring seals.

This is what I meant!! The Aussie just explained it better!!

The fill tube is cooler than the engine crankcase so moisture will condense there.

An oil sample is a great idea to have done regularly. It can alert you to problems before they become a big issue. It is easier to plan a repair than call a tow truck!!

Have seen same problem in friends truck, nothing to worry about. Just get the oil sample checked, to be safe. Its just the temp inside and outside of oil fill tube that make the vapour back into small amount of water
