    Hello all
I am a prior farm boy who is in the military as a mechanic. I am incharge of a two truck recovery team. My odd ball question stem from the militarys use of civilian trucks from KBR and other contractors. We opperate a secure net military style radios and on most convoys that we escort with maybe 1 to 2 contractor trucks are loaned out these coms. It would be useful for my job of recovering downed trucks or break downs if I had better communication with them. I have seen a few issues with break downs or almost loosing a truck from a lack of communications with them. Most run some type of 10 meter radio or CB they brought with them when they got hired. The question is does anyone know of a CB store that actually ships over seas to an APO military address. Most I tried will not and there are no normal Uniden or Cobra normal CB's in the supply chain. Any help would be great.

First and foremost you need to check with your command about the use of CBs. Do you really want to have unsecure communications with a broke down truck in hostile environment??

Yes Thank you for your service!!

A handheld AM radio would probly work with most of the 10 meter radios out there.

Back when I was in armor-como we ran the AN/GRC3 nd RT-70 radios they were analog FM ........

The problem here is the cost of secure radios they ain't cheap and the use of a CB or 10 meter radio legal or otherwise is about the only way
    you have to go.......

    BE SAFE .....

from what i understand truckers over there use their cb/10 meter radios for general #### chat. isnt there a secure radio that you can hook up to the truck so they can communicate with you?
