I wouldn't have moved the trk. They could of have come get your things there, being u were hospitalized. They put abandonment then u could have sued hem!!!!

There must be more to this story??? The neighbor "towed" the truck and then "towed" it to a truck stop??? Sounds to me like ATS was doing you a major favor by taking you off the lease seeing that you would be out of work for 6 to 8 weeks..How were you going to make the payments??? Did you think they would just let the truck sit and not charge you lease payments??? How about the real story - PLEASE..

Not to beat a dead horse here, but I really wish some of these guys would use proper punctuation. Certain posts would resignate with the readers more and put emphasis on what "really" happened.

Leaving the trk at a trk stop is abandonment Most leases say the trk has to be returned to a terminal.

doesnt make any sense--he says the company got another driver to move the truck--which is a good thing--but then his neighbour had to tow it????
i think their taking you off of the lease was a favour--if not you would owe even more money for payments

I think there is more to this story also..

I personally know 3 drivers that have or had lease trks, with ATS. that had injuries happen to them while leasing or buying at trk. through ATS.

Yes they will ask you to clean out the trk. so they can stop the lease.. Saves you money. You can then lease another trk. when cleared to go back to work.

They have also parked a trk. one time when the man broke his ankle. When he was ready to come back to work they just rewrote his loan papers for him..

Nothing was taken out of his trk. and nobody used it or drove it.
They lowboyed it back to the main office for him.

Now this driver that just posted may have been new to them and then he has a non ATS person move the trk. it puts him in vialation of his lease about a non approved driver using or moving the trk.
He states his neighbor towed the trk. Was it a proper tow to what?

Then not taking it to a spot approved he got nailed for abandonment. Yes they can do that.
Read the papers, had another driver I know took his trk. to a yard and dropped it off and told them 5 days later to pack sand. Yes he got nailed for return fees.
Had he called and talked with them he might of saved himself a bunch of money.

I'm thinking this is a one poster drive-by with something to stir the pot. I would take this posting with a grain of salt, unless they come back and clarify the writing. :biggrin_2558:
