ok 1st thing. In order to be regional and home weekly (5-6 days) you have to take a 2 cent a mile pay cut. I was barely in my region and never home in less then 8 days, so that is why im complaining about the pay cause if they arent gnna keep me regional and home weekly, then they should pay me full rate. 2nd thing is the reason i consider 2,300 good is cause a lot of roehls otr guys are getting less then 2,000.. 3rd thng, reason im complaining is because i dont appreciate being told by a dispatcher that im lucky to work for roehl when that is my choice to say or not to say. Roehl is just like the rest, i laugh when i see the back of the trailer say "take home more, be home more" what a bunch of bs.. 1 last thing is that i run out of gary and there is always a load home, they just try to tell you there isnt to keep you out longer. Im not the only roehl driver who feels this way.

well im on day 6 of my 1st run as 7/7 and i already have 2,400 miles. im supposed to be home 2mro nght (tuesday night) or wednesday morning at the latest, however they now are trying to keep me out longer, past thanksgiving. The poster mentioning it being slip seat is correct, however they havent gotten anyone else to run 7/7 in my truck.. Knowing that my new fm told me that i would still be back by 8am on wednesdays.. He is a liar.. I was told that if i take the load to michigan i could relay to gary (currently in kansas city) now im told that i cant relay.. Being that it delivers wednesday night and that thursday is thanksgiving i wont be home till friday.. seeing that i have an interview friday at 10am with dr pepper/snapple to be a route driver.. I am forced to make a decision.. An interview is an interview, no guarantee of employment but i cant let this oppurtunity pass me by.. If im told something by a company i expect them to honor it. I understand that nothing is guaranteed in trucking but i dont appreciate being lied to in order to take a load

I'm on your side on this matter, can't stand some of this "super trucker" mentality on this site. "I can't stand FNG's", well buddy if you can't stand the original poster move on and take your opinions elsewhere, they're not justified here. As for the OP, I would be ticked as well, especially if you're taking a pay cut for the upside of being home weekends, now you've taken a pay cut and still running OTR, sounds like Roehl is the only one coming out of this situation with a positive outcome. Again, I feel you're justified in your dissatisfaction with Roehl, where you go from here is up to you, I personally think route type work would suck, but that's just me and I'm not the type to force my opinions on others like some other joe schmo's on here. Whatever direction you take, best of luck and get your arse home for Thanksgiving, holidays are for family and if Roehl told you that you'd be home, get there..............

I drove for Roehl for 2 years back between 2006 to 2008. During that time I was on the 7/7 fleet due to home situation that required more than just 3 days off every 11 for about 5 months. 7/7 is part time driving and with it a pay check every other week. Once I get things under control at home I had to return to the National fleet due to finances. I had a partner on the 7/7 so the truck came back within the 7 days. Only once did I get stuck driving a strange truck for one week. Of course that was back when freight was not as tight as is it now. I did get decent miles for the week I was out but again the next week no pay check. You need to understand that a DSR will tell you what he thinks is the truth and to keep freight/trucks moving. Roehl has not change much over the years. Finding the right trucking company is like find the right person to marry. Can you put up with their BS and can they put up with your BS. Unless you are on a dedicated run you are going to be disappointed time and time again about when you get back home. That's truck driving especially with the larger companies.

Tell your DSR you are 7/7 and you aren't staying out longer than a day late. If you get no results ask for his fleet manager. Reinforce the fact you signed up for 7 7 and that is what you expect. Do not back down, go up the chain all the way to VP of van operations. Just remind them that you have upheld your portion of the 7/7 program. It worked for me themany times they tried that on me when I ran hometime.

IF you had read his post you'd realize he'd been promised certain things and they didn't deliver on those promises. Whether he's a newb or not doesn't matter they said they would do one thing and did a complete another. The OP has every right to ###### i would too.
