Does anyone run out of the Modesto Terminal... I am seriously looking into W/S and at this point they are #1 on my list, the second being Gordon. I would love to get some insight how people from this region are running. It has been tough deciding on companies and it took me a while to run across W/S because there doesn't seem to be much negative about them. At one point it was like, which one of these bad companies to start with... Now I think I have narrowed it down to two decent companies... Anyways I am waiting for the ever dragging WIA process... It is excruciating sitting here on my butt everyday... anyways I hope to talk to you guys and possibly meet up with some of you when I make it out on the road...

    Talk to you all later

How you run has little to do with what you call your home terminal. Of course there are exceptions to every rule. My guess for what it's worth, you'll mainly be up and down I-5 a bunch but that's not to say you won't run the east coast too. There are loads that come out of the LA area going east. You can ask the dispatch if they have any loads going to a certain area, you may get lucky or you may go 180* in the opposite direction. lol

This is not what I am getting at.. It is just a terminal where I might be able to take a load to to get home time. I realize and am totally expecting to run all 48, and for that matter looking forward to it. I just figured with a terminal closer to home, as compared to one say in Washington, it will make it a bit easier to get home if I need to in a pinch.. And just FYI I dont care where I run as long as the miles are ok.

However I do appreciate the input and making sure that I am not getting my wires crossed. Thanks for the reply.

My first solo run was out of Modesto (not my home terminal) went to Woodland Hills, then ran to NC. Took awhile to get a load West from NC for my hometime, but it did happen eventually!

Ok so do you or dont you have a home terminal with W/S. I am confused on that fact.... but like I said before, either way it doesn't really matter as long as I can get home within a reasonable time that I need to... I do have children, but they are already aware of what is going on and are actually looking towards next summer when maybe they can make a run with me. They are over the age limit by the way. I am aware of the company rider policy. Just in case anyone was feeling inclined to hammer me on that one... :biggrin_255: Anyways I am really getting antsy sitting around here waiting for this #### funding to come through.. I am hoping I can get an intent to hire letter from W/S to take to them and say "look I have a job lined up I just need to get started on the training".... Maybe that will help... I am going to give Roxy a call tomorrow to see how things are going with my Application... hopefully she didn't start her weekend early..

Talk to you guys later.. Be safe out there.

SmartDriver, heres the deal, Your home terminal will be Molesto *snicker*. However you will run everywhere and anywhere. They do have a run called Bay Runner, which is up and down the 5 every day, you can get lucky if you like driving and end up on that since your out of one of the main terminals for it. (its a night driving gig though, and definatly not easy). But I can say you will end up home, most likely your frieght comming in would be from aridzona, to Santa fe springs to modesto. I have a friend who lives up there and out of that terminal. hes around somewhere.
