I never cared much for the early "B" models with the short hood...But the "L" is the best lookin' W900 ever in my opinion.
I had a '75 that I bought new, that was set up a lot like the green'74 that is pictured above but it had a CAT 1693 T/A and a Dana Spicer 4X4 two stick tranny in it...It was my favorite truck ever until I got the W900L that I have now. -
Thanks for the pics BW9! That is my dream truck KW900A. One easy way to tell the B's from the A's is. The B's have square headlights where the A's have round. For the ones that don't know that. I kinda like the B models myself but thats cause I drive one at work. That short hood comes in handy on a tri axle dump truck. But I like the L's also. Here's a ? for youBW9. Did the letters A,B,l stand for anything?

Kenworth sure builds a fine truck, but it just doesn't have the lines of a Peterbilt
I'm not saying one is better than the other, I'm saying The Peterbilt has that "it" factor that attracts, and the KW just doesn't have the same juice....Last edited: Nov 23, 2010

You should fix that exhaust leak you truck has. Only explanation for you suggesting someone dump the Cat for a Cummins. I'm worried about you man, almost scared your going to start thinking of buying a bubble truck.

Oh and everyone knows you can't get more than 4mpg out of a classic hood. All the magazines say so, so it's got to be true.
A local guy here always used to say that Pete's were made with all the parts deemed unworthy to be put on a KW. That's why PACCAR bought them, to dump all the extra junk. -
Ya getting a Cummins in a classic hood truck is just unamerican!
Don2WS Thanks this. -
Cat shot themselves! there's a lawsuit going around now I hear
-
Oh no! Is it fatal? Where did they shoot themselves? Head? Foot? Else where?
-
Let's see, I'm gonna guess someone is crying about them getting out of the truck market. I give them props for not bending over backwards for the EPA. Last time I checked it's not going to hurt them either, since truck engine sales were less than 5% of their global profit I think they will be okay.

Someone was asking about Paccar's history?
They started out with railroad equipment. So we can rib each other about how the truck operations are to dump the bad railcar parts.
