And of course all good things come to an end. My second week on the job I had to take my father to the hospital as he was having a heart attack. I was trying to impress the account manager by letting her know, and even came into work later. I figured I had scored points as I came to work the day of my father heart attack, but I was wrong. My third week, I came down with the flu(medically diagnosed) and still went to work for 2 days. I finally caved and called in for a day, and received a call from US 5 hrs later stating that the acct manager wanted me removed. I thought it seemed a bit harsh, for if youve ever sat through that orientation, you know how big they are on looking good w the CSA 2010. And working while sick is a direct violation, which they make very clear. Oh well, It happenes, but if anyone is looking into local in Atlanta, be advised, Ragan Denny, the acct manager is brutal. She's honey this and honey that, and will snap in an instant. Try to sneak some bipolar prescriptions into her coffee.

If you don't mind my asking. Does this mean you are off that particular account, or gone from US?
-
Yes, I am off of this account. Luckily the person who hires all of the drivers for dedicated and local understands and personlly knows how bad of a ball breaker this woman is, so shes working with me to find a new account.
-
Good luck.

New to us xpress was wandering if anyone is getting "good" miles, or are you sitting after every drop?

I am just about halfway through my truck driving school. It is a long one. (18 weeks)
Just started my second week on the range so I have about six weeks left if everything goes according to plan. I thought I had made my choice with who I was going to go drive for.
But after digging around on the FMCSA website and researching the safety measuring page, I again am waffling.
So here I am asking for any information about usxp. I tried to get some info about them on the FMCSA website but could not pull them up on the company search.
I have talked with a usxp driver and he had no complaints.
Some of the rumors I have heard is:
- All company drivers are required to drive team for six months before
I considered usxp but after hearing this I did not pursue an application.
Tonight I went on the company website and I must say it is impressive.
Do all of the trucks have the side camera?
And does usxp have automatics?
The automatic philosophy appeals to me on the fatigue factor.
I will be calling them tomorrow to follow up.
This forum has been very informative and I am encouraging all current drivers of usxp to give feedback on this company.
Look forward to hearing from you!!Lilbit Thanks this. -
As far as I know USX is all Autoshift.
-
OK, I am a new driver with USX (in training still) but I can answer most of these.
- New drivers are NOT required to drive teams. My wife and I are going to drive team but the three other students that were in our orientation are all solo. I heard that rumor also but have seen no evidence of it. If this happens somewhere, it may depend on your home terminal.
- I have not seen a company truck that does not have the side camera. I have heard that if they break, they are a pretty low priority to fix however.
- Most of the trucks are automatics. They have just purchased a bunch of brand new Freightliners that are 10 speeds. You will hear many rumors about this and I have no idea what is true, whomever is telling you the story won't really know either. From "USX is abandoning automatics" to "They got a killer deal on the 10 speeds and could not pass it up"
Shardrk, venne and Desert Dog Thank this. -
I leave for orientation next week.Hopefully everything works out.Wish me luck .
