Maybe I'm just too old school,,,,,
But that has to be the stupidest looking thing I have ever seen. Why would anyone want to build a truck that is hard to drive, can't fit in a tight space, and wastes so much space?

I agree, but, I guess I am just too practical. That and with that wheelbase he cannot pull a 53' trailer up in Canada. Maximum is 244" wb with a 53 footer. You can go longer with a 48' or 45'. Many decks run 48's with longer wb tractors up here. I actually prefer a bit shorter wb with a 53' tridem. Can turn it on a dime and fit it just about anywhere. -
Because he works it a whopping 30,000 miles out of the year. It's a show piece - not a real world working truck. Personally, I kind of like it. I wouldn't want to drive it anywhere off the "big road" but it's different, and like I said earlier, I bet it rides like a Cadillac. Just my two cents though. Like the old saying goes, "to each his own."

I always associate "custom" trucks with rate cutters. Not sure why, but it seems like the guys with the fancy trucks are always running cheap. Maybe it is because to them it's more about the "trucker lifestyle" than profits.
The other thing that bothers me about "custom trucks" is that they always seem to be poorly engineered. Although I never finished my engineering degree, I grew up in a family where all the men did was work on machinery. Millwrights, electricians, engineers, welders, machinists, crane operators,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I even did a 10 year stint at an engineering and construction company where I started as a crane operator and left as VP of operations.
To me, any compromise of function in order to "look cool" is just so wrong. My whole thought process since I was a little kid has been molded to always think "how to do the most with the fewest resources" -
well good for you.....I'll bet he could care less what you or anybody like you thinks..

Hmmmmmmm
It didn't seem that way the last time we had any interaction. He seemed to take me not liking his truck as a personal insult -
what does this have to do with the topic?
the man made this thread to ask a question, not to hear you pound on your chest. -

Well I hate to see another trucker lifestyle guy enter the business. His question led me to believe that his friend was going to come into this business to play BBR game.
Straight pipes, chicken lights, gangsta drop visors, cow catcher bumpers and the like paint the trucking business in a bad light. It makes us all look like 2 digit IQ morons. Those kind of guys reinforce the "trucker" stereotype in the eyes of the public.
Beating my chest? What, you think I should downplay my abilities so I don't offend you or anyone? Six years trucking, you should be listening not making wise comments
