The only reason I'd want to mess with the trim codes is to keep from having to take it somewhere and pay someone to change them when I put new injectors in, my regular mechanic mostly works on heavy equipment and doesn't have a computer.
Any other tricks/ways to get around the idle-shutdown timer?

May be it is better to purchase laptop, RP1210 adapter and DDDL?
you'll get some money back helping other drivers in rest areas -
A person doesn't have to disable the switch totally. It only has to be disabled to keep the engine running...if disabling it does work. You could use a wire tie around it or even install a toggle switch to bypass it at night. The possiblities are endless if you actually sit down and figure out what parameters will keep the engine from shutdown.

is it so difficult to find a guy with DDDL ore DDRS to disable OI? It is 20 min stuff!

If you change the setting on a company truck, I certainly hope you have another job lined up before they find it. The qualcomm will rat on you within a day.

Dont say about this to your cheef!
we had a greate scandall in our company when Polish cops tried to ticked our driver for speeding. we do not know how did he drive away w/o ticket but "smart" polish cops sent speeeding tiket not to his home, but to his cheef and he was amazed that speed on radar snapshot was over speed limit of vehicle, about 130 kmh...orion3814 Thanks this. -
I had one reprogrammed at a truck stop. I had the governed speed raised, and the idle cut out deactivated.
Company never did find out, as far as I know.
But I was still very conservative, maybe that is why I wasn't caught. -
How? We can do pm if you'd like.

They can and will if they get thoughts that it has been done pull up the ecu records off the truck it will tell them anything and everything that has ever happened to that truck. So you will be kissing your job goodbye. The only way to fix it is ##### till they authorize that changes in the parameters. It can be set so it will idle when above and below certain temps. Or you could stop working for bfi and get a job with a better company. I suggest the latter

How about a PTO switch that runs nothing?
