As the post states I have a gambling problem and I'm considering taking up the exclusion program in my state (Missouri) that doesn't allow me to enter casinos. I have a few questions before I do, does anyone know if this can be seen on a DAC report and if so would it cause problems in the future if I was to look for employment with another company.

this is NOT something that would go on your DAC......

however, if at any time you will be driving say through Nevada, you can inform your dispatcher to NOT advance you any money from your pay.

tell him why, or not, that is up to you, but once you "ask" for this special refusal of advancement monies (heading towards that direction), dispatch will have a pretty good idea you like to gamble.

You can beat the casinos. One of the biggest gambles of your life was to get into trucking.

I'm not worried about going to casinos out of town as I mostly stay in state... My biggest concern is that it will cause problems if I seek future employment with another company in the future.

Where do you find time? I love casino's and Texas Holdem, but I only get about 1-2 chances a year to stop.

The casino stopping you isn't the answer. There are too many. You need to stop lying to yourself. The odds are in the houses favor. You might as well walk in, hand them your wallet, eat a free buffet that cost you $500 and leave mad. That's what you are doing.

You need to get your mind right and realize how stupid it is throwing your money away. One key is to learn to build a relationship with your money, which you don't have. I know, that win is right around the corner. It's not the money won, but the high of winning. Take up a new hobby that satisfies you and can replace gambling. People can quit smoking, quit drinking and quit using drugs, you can quit gambling.

Willpower amazes many. Don't under estimate yourself. Like my drill sergeant use to say... "It's all in your mother huckin mind".

Check out http://www.gamblersanonymous.org/ and look at the recovery link.

You already admitted a problem. You are halfway there. So finish it.

Only trucking companies that subscribe to DAC can report to DAC.

Thanks for all the info this is actually for my uncle he has mentioned to me in the past that the DAC is the only reason he can't stop and now that I know this is a lie I will hopefully make him stop it ruins our families life. I really appreciate all the information members have given. THANK YOU!
