Hello everyone, I am Cruz. I am new to this site and to truck driving. I've been driving straight trucks and such for a lifetime, but now I am in CDL school, I have passed the Class A exams, HAZMAT, and Tanker exams. I wanted to know if you guys have any recommendations for the best companies to sign up with after graduation.

I read some post about a guy in training whose trainer was smelly as hell. I want a company where the drivers actually care about their hygiene if it's possible. One guy on the post acted as though it was a crime to be clean. Anyway any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Oops! Sorry, I live in Virginia. Winchester area.

Redd, you know the story I read is on this site, and the way the guy wrote it was funny and scary as well. As long as there is water and soap available I see no reason for lack of hygiene. Dude said the guy didn't even brush his teeth for several days. LMAO! Man I don't know if I can tolerate being in a truck with someone like that.

Thanks for your comments JDA. All I can do I guess is just evaluate the situation when I get out there and take it from there.

Heh. I seen some old guys like they've driven for 50 years or something. Big white head of hair and a huge white beard and kind of weird look in their eye.

With all due respect anytime you get into something new to you there is a lot to learn. Isolation or not, and I know about isolation, there is no excuse for poor hygiene. Hygiene is a matter of self respect and cleanliness is next to Godliness. If you feel that it's ok to let hygiene slip that's your decision, but it's not ok with me and if I get a trainer like that I'm going to request another trainer, and anyone who slips into that frame of thought is of weak mind and character I don't care who you are or how long you have been in this industry. Most Prisoners take better care of themselves than that.
