Top 5 best companies?

Talking with a veterm driver of 25 years the other day,, he said the best company is the one that soen't have to advertise in all those magazines you see out by the drivers entrance at truck stops

Well, there are 5 of the worst. I worked for 2 of them. Now how about some of the better outfits? I've heard good things about Watkins/Shepard, and Conway.

 

well you gotta start somewhere, may as well start w/one of them. Get a year then start looking for the best. The best usually dont hire newbies. Although; I did get lucky w/my first pick.

 

I heard from another driver on this board that Conway hires students. W/S does their own training. Unfortunately, there are so many bottom feeder outfits out there that the decent (not great, but decent) jobs get swallowed up in all the noise. My second company was the second best company I worked for, back in the day. My last was the best, but it's all down hill these days.

 

OMG put the name of these awesome companies! good lord. Everyone says they know somewhere better for a new driver to start out but won't say where. Useless.

look for the small fleet.you will like it better than the big fleet to them you are a # and thy treat you like a #.. good luck.
