aww okay cool. I know how to drive already I just dont have my CDL. My friends a O/O taught me how to drive, so I was with him for 4months over the road. He thought it would be best if I go to a school and get my license because he said no company would hire me if I just went and took my test on my own. Only thing sucks is they cant transfer my Indiana CDL permit over to Utah, I have to take the test over again.

My school was contracted by Central here in NC, so I didn't have to go through all that. Got my permit here in NC and took the skills tests here in NC.

Heading out to Conley early Sunday morning. I will be posting about my experiences..

I tried to go to school here where I live, its a school ten minutes from my house, I tryed to go through the WIA program because I couldnt find work but they claim truck driving isnt a in demand job in Indiana but its like #9 on the hot jobs list in Indiana. I finally found a job in October working at the casino but they only have me working 3days a week. I cant save up 3,000 to pay for school working those kinda hours so I will be giving them the middle finger january 5th.

I would give them two weeks.. Don't burn a bridge you may need to cross again.. But I hear ya..

I was actually surprised to learn Central contracted with the school I went too. For the most part the school I went too was very good. I heard so many horror stories about the school, but I didn't have any of those experiences. Just remember the schools sole purpose is to get you to pass the CDL exams, beyond that your real training starts the day you are behind the wheel of a company truck.

My husband started with Central in August, doing the school and OTR with them. He has had 3 bad dispatchers so far(one was actually fired by the company) and from what I have been reading about Central that is one of the bigger issues from drivers. He is now team driving and leasing. I wish he would have waited to start leasing but oh well hopefully he gets more miles now as an owner op. He is based out of Fontana. In general he hasn't had too many problems aside from the dispatch issues. Even during training, his trainers truck broke down and they waited 3 days to see if it could get fixed(which it wasn't able to as parts needed to be ordered) before they sent my husband to Conley to meet up with another trainer for the last few hundred miles he needed. They paid his hotel and the bus ticket to get to Conley from where he was so that was good.
