Depression and DOT

Yes you would be better off getting your DOT phyiscal card AND your permit before starting school. Yea Permits exipire just like a license it depends on your state some states give you 90 days some 2 years, You can only get 2 permits though! meaning you get one and then you renew it before it expires and then thats it.....

Heck, I take a meds for depression and meds for anxiety, not to mention a bp pill. It's all disclosed and it's all good.

 

Your medical card is good for 2 years. But with certain ailments the doc can issue a shorter time frame on the card. At least that will give you some insight before you commit to a school.

Once you get out of school and hire in somewhere, you will have to take another physical.

Along with too much on your shoulders, there are many illnesses that depression is a side affect of. Has anyone done any blood work on you to check?

 

I just had a physical, if you take bp meds, they now only give you a year

 

yea every company will have you do one before they hire you, but they'll pay for it! lol

Hoosiercruzer, wait on the permit until you decide on a school. If its in a different state they may not take it at the school since you will be testing for your CDL at the schools site. Just trying to save you a few bucks. But check with the school you decide on.

 

I still get a 2 year medical card, no problem.
