DieselBear, sorry to hear so many in your family went blind or are blind. if you don't mind my asking, and if you do, you have my apologies up front, is blindness hereditary in your family...??

It's a heredity deal, my older cousin lost her sight last year at age 42. All the others were born that way, except my grandfather that had a stroke that caused his.

Small world, amigo.
My dad told me the same thing about that red light on the phone, and I believed it too, --- until I read your post.
He also told me that they wanted to put him on television, .......
but it only had an eight inch screen and he never would have fit. :smt107
He used to tell anyone who would listen that he'd give a thousand bucks,
to be a millionaire.
When he was on a roll, he'd tell folks that he knew a guy that'd give a hundred bucks to see them, --- and they'd usually respond "Really"?!
YuP, he'd assure them, --- adding that the guy was blind.
Once, when we were both thirsty and there was only one bottle of soda, he suggested that we split it 50/50. I agreed and went to fetch a glass. Upon my return, the bottle of soda was empty. I didn't know what to think, or say. He looked at me and said "My half was at the bottom. I had to drink your half to get to mine".
I fell for that one too.
Obviously I ain't the brightest bulb
on the billboard.

By the way, .................. what is that red light for? :smt017:smt102
I believe you, Mr. Bear.
There's a blind man living a few miles from me who has a newspaper route that he walks daily. He can throw the paper from the sidewalk and it'll land on the porch of his customers, right near the door, every time. Never in the bushes. I have yet to see a sighted person with that accuracy.
Gr8oldies Thanks this. -
Yup, I knew a guy named Lloyd Ring who ran the canteen at our local Community College who was totally blind. He had the greatest scam with the girls, "I see with my hands".

Getting people who are not fit to drive off the road is a start but I think getting the sadists off the road would be an even better route to take. You know who I'm talking about. The ones who make jokes and **** when a fatality has occured. I personally think these people require a much harsher treatment than just being banned from driving. Selfish ****s who only care about themselves and why they haven't gotten to the house yet.

No, I didn't drop a stink bomb post here and run just expecting to get flamed. ANGRYTRUCKINGGUY is a name I used on an Opie and Anthony message board, Opie said he would get complaints from an 'angry typing guy' (not me). I'm not "angry".

You're right ATG, I should not be driving a rig right now. So, I am not until I get cleared by my Doctor and the Specialists. If not then, it is disabilityville for me. If so, I hve a great job to go back to. Guess I am one of the smart ones. LOL

I commend you on your regard for others safety as well as following the rules concerning your medical condition. Feel better, be well, and hope to see you back on the road soon.

All I'm saying is I shouldn't have to get up every time someone backs in next to me to see if they are gonna back into my mirrors 2 or 3 times before they decide they can't do it and look for another parking slot. And this has happened at nite when the driver had the co-driver/ passenger on the ground spotting them. Additionally, El Paso is a beautiful place. And that red lite on the hotel phone is to let you know you have a message at the switchboard.
