    EXACTLY!!

So Mike, who do you have yes' from and are you leaning towards a particular one atm? Have you thought about when you are going to start the ball rolling with one of those yes'?

I have gotten yes' from BTC (Builders Transportation Company) and Swift and Baylor.

Out of the 3 so far,

BTC pays $.35/mile loaded or empty, tarp pay, 2000 miles/wk avg., home weekends (missing 10-12 a year) most likely get a minimum 34 hour reset at home, and they do flatbed. :biggrin_255: Orientation is in Memphis.

Swift pays $.25/mile with increases frequently up to $.29/mile with short haul bonuses, and they have good cheap insurance. And training pay is $450-$500/wk. Orientation is 40 miles from home. :biggrin_255: Flatbed is an option.

And Baylor was the first to say yes...so I am a bit partial. ;) But, they pay $.32/mile up to $.39/mile after 5 years. They pay you for orientation, and the training pay is lower at $300/wk and increasing $25 wk until you get to $400 I think. They are regional, which means a good chance of having a 34hr reset at home. Incsurance is a bit middle of the road, and mid-expensive. East coast runs get paid a bonus.

Oh, and Werner said yes. ;)

Never worked for Baylor, but have spoken with two of their drivers recently (in the last month or so). Not very favorable...junky trucks, at least those two.

BTC sounds pretty good....don't be swayed by the cents-per-mile. Be sure to consider all the details. CPM is the easy way to entice drivers.

Things ARE looking up, though...so plug on and best of luck to you!

most of the companies you listed will hire you, just don't give up any more info than they ask for, most of the co's you have listed only require you to be breathing, there will be recruters coming to your school, they also do a job fair up near detroit at the end of your training, you'll get hired, I can almost gaurantee you that unless your not telling the whole story here.

Nope....the whole story and nothing but the truth. The only person I would hurt is myself if I lied about any of this anywhere...including here. ;)

I have a feeling some of the companies that turned me down consider me just another app that they toss in the round filing cabinet on the floor. :(

I think I will hound a few of these recruiters until they have to take a hard look at me and make a decision based on me, and not on the words on my app.

With an attitude like that he wouldn't...but thankfully he has a better attitude :)

Keep doing what your doing Mike, those 3 pre-hires show that companies WILL hire you, you just gotta find out which ones, keep making calls and putting in applications!

No matter what keep your head up, have faith in yourself and your abilities, and don't let the nay-sayers get you down!!
