I agree...a year is not long enough but then again, it's not designed for a truck. It's designed for a dorm room or along those lines. I figure if I get a year out of it....great! lol

    I had a PB387 and I bought an Emerson dorm fridge at Target for $189. Dimensions Height: 31.0 "; Width: 18.5 "; Depth: 18.5".
I've used mine over 2 years and it still works great.

The Pete I had a closet and each wall is a seperate panel. I took the door off and one side panel. I left the panel by the bunk. The fridge fit perfect with extra room and I put the microwave on top and run a nice bungee across the top of them both.

$189 is alot better than $500-800 and they are a much nicer set up. Mine peaked at 120 watts at start up for a second and uses 50-70 watts running. It might come on a few times an hour. The seperate freezer will hold about ten TV dinners to give you an idea. And it's frost free like a house freezer.

I bought a Frigidaire from Best Buy, I bought it cause it had a seperated freezer section, its basically a tiny fridge with a fridge and freezer section. I love this fridge, anyway it ran on my 1000 watt inverter without issue, it pulled 750 watts turning on but only ran at about 150-200 watts. The only issue is it is a bit tall, so we had it on the second bunk. If you have a flat top though, it won't work.

And how did your batteries hold up? Were you able to shut down the truck for the 10 hour break without having to be jumped off?

Up until one of the batteries started leaking yes, but then even the phone plugged in would drain the battery. The battery was bad, and for whatever dumb reason they kept neglecting to get it fixed.

I have one made by G.E. that was bought at Walmart. It fit's perfectly behind the seat in a Century or Columbia. Not sure if it's your truck or a company truck. I removed the 4 nut's on the back wall and pulled the cabnet out and left it at home. Stuck the fridge in and it work's awsome. No need to tie it down either. I've had mine in 3 different truck's plus my trainer had one in his truck and haven't had any problems of it tipping over, but you will have to get one of those thin style baby saftey clip's to keep jar's or drink's from pushing the door open. It has a small freezer, shelves, bottom drawer. I've kept everythign from chicken to salad in that bad boy. Get a george forman grill, (the small little $20 one works great) and you can eat like a king and keep it cheap on the road. Haven't used mine in the past year because company policy doesn't allow for the removal of anything to install a fridge. That fridge was run on a 1500 watt inverter along with the TV, forman grill, and cell phone charger with no problems.

I had an APU so I'm not sure. It would only come on about once every 15 minutes or so for about 2 minutes. It uses 120 watts to start and drops quickly to 70 watts to run. I would think it would run 10 hours. One way to find out. :) But I'm real happy with it. It puts them 12V Coleman/Igloo coolers to shame.
