I can remember that. My brother's name is Chris. I got my handle years ago from my grandfather and uncles. I wouldn't go fishing unless we were going after catfish. Now, in my free time during the spring, summer, and winter, I compete in some high-dollar catfish tournaments. I guess I need to post some pics now, huh? LOL

If you go in as an experienced driver you should probably plan on a road test the 1st day. Hard? No, but I would think that their expectations would vary somewhat depending on many things.

As well as I can remember... I do not think TMC let rookies in the drivers seat of an actual truck until the 3rd-5th day, and even then it was only for a straight line back. Yard & road training/eval. was mostly during second week of orient.

    Good luck to you.

Hey Matt, been real busy and haven't had any time to check your posts lately, glad to hear you got you foot fixed, I still feel terrible that even happened, we were supposed to get our trucks together ya know, I'm stuck in a snowstorm at the moment 2 hours from home, I tried to get us there but got too slick so my trainer decided we'd get home in the morning, I finally got my downshifting experience on hills in the smokies this week, got it figured out now, still hate rush hour around the big cities though, I better shutup and get some sleep, keep the road in your sights buddy, hope to run into you again

There is no road test for newbies. You will start with straight line backing in the truck and practicing shifting the 13 speed on the sims. From there you do more yard work, then go out on the road for an hour or 2 per day. You will start with 2ndary roads with little traffic and progress to city driving, and will do at least 1 night drive. Most likely you will go out with a differant trainer each time, so expect to hear a differant way of doing some things each time, and then you will find what works best for you.
Your road test comes AFTER the 5 wks otr, when you go back to terminal. Pass the road test and get your truck. Overall, a well rounded program from my chair. Best of luck to you!

The pics are up, Chris. Well, some of them. I've got some more on my FB, but I'm trying to get them off of there to save to my computer. FB's being a b**** right now, but as soon as I get them, they'll go on here too. Not to worry, my friend. I'll get you to SC and I'll treat you to a weekend fishing on our world-famous, gator-infested waterway..... Santee-Cooper. :biggrin_2559:
