I just love the way some people are ready to throw the truck drive in jail. While hitting a stopped school bus is with out a dought one of the worse things anyone could do, it just might not be the drivers fault. In the first pic the second thing I noticed (after the grill of the truck) was how dirty the back of the bus is. US190 is a east-west highway and at 7:30 am sun glare may have played a part in this crash along with dirty tail lights.
Remember the truck crash that happened in March this in Kentucky on I65 that killed the driver and 10 other people? Every one condemned the driver for that crash after it was reported that the driver was doing 80mph and on the phone, 3 weeks ago on the news they said the truck was governed at 65mph and his last cell phone call ended 4 mins before the truck ran into the van. Now they are back to square one trying to figure what happen. The only for sure thing is he was changing lanes and went into the median. After I seen a aerial photo the first thing I thought was the left steer tire blew out and pulled the truck into a muddy median.
I just sayin....not every thing is black and white.
God speed to the kids and there family's.

Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
not trying to start an arguement....and like you said, everything is not black and white...BUT if it was sun glare...why didnt he slow down?? thats too fast for conditions...not saying i am perfect by any means...but i feel there is NO excuse for this ,other than mechanical ,and something happened out of his control....if it was ANYTHING that was driver error..i think they should fry him....prayers and sympathies for those poor children and their families....our youngest daughter was shot in 09 at the age of 16 and i know how awful that was to deal with...i can only imagine the agony of the parents with the children so young!!!! hope they recover soon and fully!!!!Last edited: Dec 3, 2010

Ya sorry, can't do anything here but fry the driver. He is the professional and supposed to be in full control at all times as said professional. My prayers for the children, a speedy recovery for all.
And FYI: Folks from La. are notorious litigators. To their credit and notches in their guns the following famous have fallen before them:
State Farm ( as admin. for NFIP / Gooberment )
FEMA
BP
Rockwood Industries ( made some trls. for hurricane )
And those are deep and powerful pockets.
Bring what you got J.B. ! -
Very true. Those buses just look like cheap hunks of metal lumbering around but you can imagine the amount of money and time spent into designing them to withstand such accidents.
Of course, it could have been much worse. -
#### you wanna "fry" the guy for an accident where no one was killed
only injured. And yes it's a tragic thing, I'm sure everyone including the
driver wished never happen.
So, "us" folks are "notorious litigators" huh? I didn't know that you were
a standing authority on how states rank as far as litigation goes. But
since you said it and included the phrase "FYI" I guess that makes it true.
FYI I live along the LA coast and work in the oilfield
industry, our work dropped big time after the spill. But guess what, I
never filed a claim with BP for lost wages. I also know of many
others who also did not file claims. On the other hand I know folks who were
not affected and they did file claims. Our society as a whole has become a society of litigators, everyone wants something for nothing and it is not
specific to any one part of the country.
I've noticed that you were the only one to bring the subject of lawsuits up
and with this statement hereI can tell where your frame of mind is and what you would be doing were it your
child or yourself on that bus.
07-379Pete and teddy_bear6506 Thank this. -
my thoughts and prayers go out to all involved.

There is no excuse for a rear end accident. He has been driving for a least three months to work for JB. That is enough driving experince to know what time of the morning and afternoon to be on the look out for school buses. I sure hate this happened. I sure hope for all envolved those children pull through.

Easy Coonie, Those are all public cases for anyone to see. And you bet your arse I would fry J.B. and the driver on this. How on earth can you even remotely defend them?????? You said it yourself ! Straight road, 4 lane divided, clear day.
It was obviously fairly new equipment .....do you know if a major equipment failure occurred? Likely not....so it's the driver!
Driver have a physical failure? Not likely, article says truck hit bus and stopped. Who push brake pedal ? Ghost?
And FYI is for your information....it does not imply any sort of fact anymore than my comment about LA. folks as litigators. You folks have seen more than your share or tragedy which puts your state in the headlines along with the fallout. If you lost money because of BP then you should file, if you didn't, don't. BP is not going to care either way. So ahead Coonie, go to the hospital and tell the young parents not to sue poor J.B.,........
