Are you guys and gals allowed to drive with your pets? Do you want to or not?

a lot of company's don't allow it, some require a security deposit for damages. the main reason I have been told by more than one company is if you get out of the truck unless we have the truck professionally cleaned the next driver may have allergy's etc
personally I wouldn't mind my dog would make me get out & stretch more often I have a tendency to go 10 hrs without stopping.

Like everything else, some severely abuse a pet policy and make it bad for the rest.

I travel with my dog, a Golden Retriever. I know, not exactly the best size for a dog in the truck. It is difficult at times, he needs tons of exercise which is great when I have lots of time, and the weather is great. Unfortunately this is not always the way and I have to walk him in the pouring rain on a run I have no time on and wind up with wet dog smell and a huge bag of wet towels.

My husband conspired with my best friend to get Rufus. He was leftover, the last puppy left because he has no tail. I am a sucker for Goldens but didn't want another pet. Of course I couldn't leave him all by himself in the big kennel. So I wound up with a dog. Which turned up to be a great thing. He was my reason to get up after my husband died.

All in all it is not a bad thing. Sometimes I don't get enough sleep, other times I do. I always get enough exercise, I am never lonely, he is a great ice breaker with others and I feel safer traveling by myself.

My company will let you have pets with a $300 deposit which $250 is refundable.

Some companies are pet friendly. Both sides of the pet thing have valid points.
But, the way I see it the truck is my home while I'm in it. The road can get lonely and stressful and there's nothing like having a riding buddy with you. They also can intimidate thieves and others from getting in your truck.
You never hear "Truck driver and his dog killed in a wreck today....". That's because pet owners are caring people and their mentality reflects on their driving.

I drive for Earl L. Henderson out of Salem, IL (about 70 miles east of St. Louis, MO). They take some students on, but I have zero info about that. Google Henderson Trucking and get their phone number and get the info right from them if you would like. One thing though, you can't take your pet with you while training. And training is about 3 months.
