The "Skunk and with the Flag and the Skull and Bones" can be seen on the Kelle's Trailers running out west. I saw one last month. The Simon family trucking business headed by Kelle is a Medium Sized Fleet under KTS.

Skunktruck does indeed have all of the facts correct.
I was working for Simon when this happened. (See my avatar pic-- that's my Grandpa and me with my Simon truck).
Hey, Skunktruck, I see you got the model at the Simon Store. Did you also get one of the great posters? I bought 5 of them when we sold to Central. If you didn't get one I'll post up a pic for you. -
No sir, I sure didn't. That would be great! That's one item I don't have. I just received an order I placed at my local hobby shop for 3 (2 trailers to a set) set's of Dick Simon Utility trailer's made by Athearn trains in HO (1:87) scale. Tractors not included. I'll order more as my fund's allow sense these set's are $31.95+ tax. They are not prototypically acurate but pretty close. Sense there are tractors avalible, and no manufacture offer's a FLD 120 I'll have to order each tractor as a resin kit and custom build them to spec. I build model trains as one of my hobbies and one of the scenes on my layout with be of the Dick Simon terminal but I will need quite a few so it will take some time.
But yea, I've got pretty much almost everything. My step dad was forced off the road shortly after the accident happened. I remember we got message's stating something like "ATTN driver's: please do not drive your truck around or near the capitol building as the personal there are really jumpy about black trucks circling to see the damage. If you want to see it please park your truck at a secure location and take a taxi." It was something pretty close to that effect.
I don't know why and I know companies have come and gone but this is one that has stuck with me. Not sure if I can post my email here so I'll send you a PM. -
To my surprise I seen an old skunk truck pulling a container on I5 towards San Diego. Old beat up Freightliner, Fancy pin striping and it still had sweet simon on the bunk. Just thought I would share what I saw.
I grew up running with my father during the summers and loved to see those Simon trucks for some reason. I guess it was the skunk that kept in my mind. I dunno. Interesting to me I guess.. -
Yea, last time I was out in SLC on my way back to Ft. Worth from Seattle, I saw one of their old original trucks running back into SLC on 80 just east of the sister's. I had a big wow not knowing they still had atleast one FLD and trailer in the old paint with the skunks still inplace. I'm guessing they are using it and if anymore for local run's in the area and what not. I've also seen an O/O with one of the old trucks pulling a container. It had a different name on the door but still had the skunks on the door's and roof as well as the pin stripping and the "S" on the sleeper. Wish I had, had a camera when I saw them.

Skunktruck, I got your PM and replied to it.
I'll email you a pic and post one on here for the crowd to see. -
10-4! I'll keep an eye out for it. I'm in the process of cleaning house so I'll be back and forth by the computer.

Dick Simon (and family) is another sleazy Mormon bottom feeder crook.
-
Were you employed with them at some point during your previous "Ex 9" year's in trucking? If so what did they do to you? Would like to hear the full story.
-
There are plenty of threads on them here.
Also there are newspaper articles on all the crooked stuff they have done over the years. Look it up.
