You think the Monkeys are heavy...Check Star Guns out! Forget about trying to tune a Star Gun also...Thats the reason there's one in the Bushes...squirrellsgnwild Thanks this. -
The antenna mentioned in the first post sounds like a stryker antenna. They look like a lot like a monkey made and also, no relation to the stryker radios. There is a guy in OKC who makes these, sells them and installs them from an office upstairs in a truckstop there. Hes been there for years and had a recorded sales pitch that plays on ch 19 every 10 mins or so. Sometimes you can hear him talking live if he's doing some cb ninga fighting with the other local shop down the road. They dont seem to like one another too much for some reason.
I've been running the Browning antennas for about a year now, had a Wilson 2000 for many years. I like the Brownings better because they are very light and seem to work pretty good. I was able to tune the SWR almost down to nothing. -
JJD , where'e the best place to order the Predator ??
I guess I'll need to make a decision between the Predator & a BROWNING ( I already know which is cheaper , just don't know which model would be best ??) -
I don't think the antenna I bought off the guy isn't a Striker , the Strikers have ROUND coils ( All Models ) this one has flat coils like a MONKEY MADE .

Star Gun Antenna ..... I remember seeing a write up where a guy said it had more audio gain that JOGUNN

DON'T give the wife ideas about going back to the mountians She is a eastern Kentucky hill billy ..... -
i am running a browning br-77 on the truck and think it works better then a 2000 , but not as well as a 10K. but at a 3rd the price i can afford to smash 1 or 2 a year
-
I run the Predator 10K and 43/400 as my primary rig,it has been drilled
and cable secured.
I have never had any issues tuning to 1:1,this being my 5th 10K in nearly 20 years.
(A simple zip-tie will keep the cable from flapping against the antenna or mirror hanger)bubba T Thanks this. -
You can also order straight from Kale (builder) But since he is up to his neck in orders, it may be quicker to order from a dealer.
Kales number is: 817-790-6239bubba T Thanks this.
