If you never made contact, and the ticket was dismissed they can shake your tree to see if money falls out.

The ins co wants someone to pay the bill might as well be you. You should not talk top them at all, contact your own attorney and have him respond to them, not using a attorney may cost you more than using one.

I don't think anyone is understanding my question that I am asking. If the ticket was dropped, but the insurance finds me at fault. Will this be a DMV point? We never collided, he drove around me and hit a pole. I guess what I am really asking, is do people get dmv points for tickets, and or for accidents?

The ticket was dismissed, so no points go on the MVR. You have to be found guilty.

Did DOT show up and write up an inspection report?

As far as the company being sued. It's gonna be hard for them to prove when your failure to yield was dismissed. There's a whole army of lawyers waiting to sue truck companies. With good representation on the companies side, they might be able to beat it. It's on the company now. You are in the clear unless they sue you personally. They will go after the money = company.

The insurance can report it to DMV, if they get a judgement against you. You need a lawyer to deal with them.

So this will not lead to my driving record being affected if I understand correctly?

No DOT or anything like that. As of now his insurance made the decision that he is not at fault. That I am... I just found out my insurance company was trying to contact me but my boss was interfering and refusing this to them. So on Monday I am going to call them first thing and see where this is at. I am pretty sure its still in investigation. As long as my driving record is not affected, I do not care what the verdict is. But if it will affect my record, I guess a lawyer is the way to go?

Without a judgement they can not get you to pay, They just want money, But if they can get you to admit fault, through actions, words or implication they maybe able to get the judgement, then yes it will show as a at fault accident. If they contact you you need to be able to tell them your represented by council, that makes it illegal for them to contact you directly they have to deal with your council and will more than likely go away.
