That's all well and good for weekday drivers. But why are you in favor of taking productivity away from me? I think the restart is useless anyway. Just get rid of it altogether and give me a certain nmber of hours to drive in each 24-hour period. (10 sounds reasonable) But stop dinging me for something I did last week. All that 70-hour/34-hour BS does is hurt me today for working short hours last week. And make it easier to stay on my own Circadian Rhythm. Seems pretty simple to me, but what do I know.
I just love some of these drivers who say, "Well, it doesn't hurt me, so I'm in favor of it."
If you want two days off every week, go work for a company that will give them to you like some here have. And then leave the rest of us alone. I'm not out here to sit around two days each week. I'm out here to work hard and earn money so I can have fun when and where I choose to take home time.SheepDog, rocknroll nik, Rocks and 3 others Thank this. -

I didnt say everyone follows the rules. As for cell phones, One of my pet peeves is seeing Anyone with a phone planted on their face. Im a firm believer in handfree. My motto for years has been 'if its not safe Im not doin it'

INjun, I didnt mean to offend you. I used to run for a month at a time. I dont want to do that anymore. At the same time I dont want to see them screw it up for anyone else. You are right about what you did last week shouldnt effect you this week, Ive had it happen to me. When I started looking for a new company I had a lot tell me Id be home for a 34, thats bullsh**. They usually count the 34 from the last delivery. They dont countthe time it takes to drive to and from the truck.

The 14 hour rule is the most dangerous law passed in the history of trucking. Many people have been Killed or Maimed because of it. When you can't stop the clock to take a break people are going to be killed!

I'll worry about it or not when it does or does not happen.

Companies will not want to lose the truck productivity - so 48 or 72 hr resets would become non sequitur as many will tell drivers to run the recap.
Even 1 full day off will usually be enough to gain enough to continually run the recap - if it's just ten hours per day.
Not necessarily will resets take place at home, and 48 - or worse 72 hours in some trash truck stop might get some drivers in even more trouble.25(2)+2 Thanks this.
