Logs???...Your within the air mile radius of Sherveport that would circumvent haveing to have a log book if your running Slack Warehouse or Mansfield Mill yard..or even Choushatta yard for that matter. Yeah, Tim is a hoot to be around. I broke his cherry when he thought he wanted to be a driver manager. 401K and Insurance used to be pretty good till the economy crashed. The 401K was put on hold for about 11 months (or so I was told).

I have a friend who went there and likes it, we were both screwed by Perkins out of Noblesville and Tango has been doing him right.

Nothing can be farther from the truth!!! I have worked here 1 and a half years and have yet to catch them in a lie about anything!!! There must of been something in your work history or something that came up that YOU didn't tell them about if what you are saying is even true!!:biggrin_25513:

Day two over with. Basic same ol' same ol' paper work, watching vid's, taking test's, sittin' around shootin' the #### and what not. Everyone got to meet their DM except me. Had to talk to mine over the phone sense he is at the Slack yard. He asked if I had taken my road test yet and I told him no, I wasn't sure when it would be. Just sometime tomorrow. He asked for me to be there around 18:30 just show up a little early and he would stick me with another driver to learn the ropes of the local gig. Said there were plenty of hours. I went back and asked Tim when we were taking road test's and he said tomorrow afternoon around 13:00 or so. I said ok and he asked why I had asked and told him that my DM wanted me to report to work for a full 12 hour shift at 18:30 after getting up at 05:00 that morning and sitting in class most of the day. Tim told me he know's better than that so I guess he's going to get his ### chewed and I haven't even started my first shift yet. My DM seemed to come off as a younger but over confident, ####y SOB when I talked to him and wasn't impressed by his interpersonal attitude. Maybe it was the way I took it, I dunno but I hope he isn't like that when I do start working for him.

Well the class is 50/50 black and white so I don't see that comment relavent. What exactly is wrong with your work history? All you stated is that they said something is wrong with it but you didn't specify. I like these people. They are open, honest, no game playing people and they don't #### around either. They take thing's serious unlike alot of other companies. I've been hearing about the stories of all the guy's they have brought in for oreintation and as Tim likes to call them (lol) supertrucker's who think they know everything. Only thing I can think is you did something to piss them off that they didn't like. And no pun intended but from what I am gathering of your post and how you worded it, I think that was just the case.

"Knows better than that"...LMAO..he just wants to get the loads into Mansfield mill ASAP...that is a sure indication they are short a driver over at Slack...There is a gent over at Slack that used to be in the navy, never remember his name, he is a black guy, kinda short and a bit overweight. If you see him and ask, he will show you the "ins" and "outs" of the operation. I don't get over to Slack near as much as I do the Mansfield Mill.

Come on man..Man up and tell us why you were not hired. I can grant you it is not because of race or gender.

Yea buddy. First orientation class I have ever seen where EVERYONE passed and got a truck! I went to the Buncomb rd yard with Tim and he did my drriving test. I won't mention what happened that was NOT my fault but his lol. I passed with flying colors. Went to the Slack yard and let me tell ya, those are some crazy ### people over there that I will be working with but I lik'em cause their my kinda people! Everything has exceeded beyond my expectations so far. I start tomorrow night. Got my hard hat, safety glasses and I'm providing my own safety vest sense they didn't have any more on hand at the time. I start my first shift tomorrow evening at 18:00. I am siked and I did some number crunching with the type of hours I would be working and subtracting the tax's and it exceed's my expectations. Came home and got more good new's. We have a nice, LARGE sum of money that has falling into our lap from several resources which will help clear all of our debt and get a fresh start at life which I am thanking god for because I know not many people get second chances like this. Thing's are lookin' WAY up for us.

WNDRWTR, I'll try and check in here when I can before I leave so if you get down around there lemme know and I'll keep an eye out for ya.
