So....
Last week I landed a load with a shipper, going from a juice producer in Brampton, ON, to Pompano Beach, FL.
Nice load, although a little on heavy side(44.000 lbs), but, I can overlook it....
Pays $2400 + FSC (0.18 cpm), which works out to about $2640...
Not bad, but, next morning I get a call, and this is how the conversation went, in short...
"Sorry, but the rate we gave you is a little over what we are ready to pay. We have a local company that is willing to take it to Florida for way less than you..."
OK, what did they quote you, and, what company is it?
"Oh, it is a local company from Brampton. They will take it to Pompano Beach for $1800"
Good, have a nice day...
So, this company took the load that goes 1400 miles for $1800...Lets say, 300 gallons of fuel, so, at least $900...pay the driver, insurance and all of your expenses...what do they have left???
I just can't compete with a madness....

Pay the driver $14 an hour and call it a day I guess..
-
give you one very quick guess to the nationality of the companie owner who scammed your load
and the funny part is--they will have to run mt up to alabama at least to get reloaded -
Key word....Brampton>The "brown" guys are the scourge of the industry!
-
Geeze,
Ontario is a state now !!
Cool !!bulldozerbert Thanks this. -
it's all those guys with the wrap around cowboy hats.
-
Now that there's funny, I don't care who you are!

Get use to it. If a company cuts the rate to the point a driver makes $14 per driving hour then that's more than that driver will make flipping burgers at Mc Donalds and most likely won't turn down the work.
Within the next ten years $14/per driving hour is going to be a normal wage for running long haul. -
I hate to say it but they are really ruining this industry, and giving it a bad name. I know a guy who has had to park his truck and reefer because the rates are too low that he would be working for nothing if he moves his truck,
I don't know how they can support a family on such low rates, we already know they don't maintain their trucks just by looking at the worn out old #### they drive. Their bad driving skills are giving all truckers a bad name.canuck in da truck Thanks this. -
State, in the "State of Ontario trucking" is not like a US State...it is more like a state of the union, state of current affairs, or so...Just to clarify it.
I know what company it was, and I know that the truck that took stuff down broke down in WV. I know, for a fact, that shipper, and especially receiver weren't happy at all...It was a time sensitive load, going to Carribean, and it missed a boat...
I am refraining from any racial remarks and epithets, since I caught so much #### in my previous post for calling them "Paki"
Cheers
