I can't believe no one mentioned aerosol cheez. It's tasty, keeps almost forever, fits nicely in the cup holders in most trucks and it's easy to eat while driving down the road. Just point and shoot!

i am not sure about eating a co-driver--only have driven with guys--and i sure aint going there
another good point to remember--if your co-driver is chinese--dont bother eating him--you will just be hungry in a few minutes anyways

At least one case of water, I carry two, re-up when down to one, ravioli's, soup, chili, loaf of bread, peanut butter, jelly, lunch meat, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, couple cans of chips or pretzels, coffee ( have 12v maker ), apples. Now Im not allowed an inverter but im not picky and can eat pasta, chili or soup cold, if Im stuck im probably idling so I can heat off engine if I really want. I try to keep minimum of three days for two people, and thats eating well. :biggrin_2558:

i carry the usual. i have a -30 degree rated sleeping bag, a case of bottled water, crackers, peanut butter, tuna, fruit cups, warm clothes and 3 means of communication....the cell phone, CB radio and the qualcomm.

not to mention that when i know i am heading somewhere that has the possibility for bad weather, i never let my fuel tanks run below 2/3 of a tank. i keep them full at all costs. i would hate to be in the running out of fuel situation and cant stay warm.

Just hangin' out waiting for the phone to ring so will add my 2 cents.

That comment about keeping your fuel tanks near full is dead-on!

    (never saw this happen before)
Last winter, I was EB on I-40 in NM. & when I got to Tucumcari there were trucks everywhere. Both Loves & F-J were out of fuel and food! Flashin sign said the hwy. was closed, but NMDOT said it was open so I went on to Amarillo. There all the t/s's were out of fuel off-n-on. Petro would get a load as the Pilot ran out etc. Trucks lined up on the highway shoulder to hit the off ramps for 1/2 a mile. I was in a line that took 4 hours to get to the pumps, just in time for the Pilot to run out again. Another hour before the next tanker showed up. Moral, Keep your tanks full so you can go on if you need to.

Oh-yea! Peanut butter, crackers, anything in a can, h2o, dried fruit, stuff you can eat cold.
