Man my little brother has got himself in a pickle. He went to work for Load Runner Express out of Universal City Tx.He has only been with them about 6 mons and they owe him $9000.00 dollars in unpaid wages.I have been a driver for 30 years and never worked for an outfit like this,so the only advice I had for him is to tell them he needs at least half of his money to keep him there and if he gets it RUN AWAY!!!!!. If anyone has encountered a problem like this and was able to get their money please post a msg.and I will pass it on to him. Thanks much.George

well to start with does he only run intrastate in texas? I would tell him to contact the state labor board, just make sure that he has all documents i.e logs to show he performed the work. did he work for 6mos w/o pay??
-
I just wonder how he could let a company owe him that much without putting an end to it before it got that bad. There is something really off or missing in this story
-
Post and run again?
-
No he runs 48,They give him money whenever his bills are due and he forces the issue. And yes he is a fly by night driver working for a fly by night outfit.I agree it is partially is fault. He has had more jobs this year than I have had in 25 yrs,so legit companies won't touch him.I suppose his only option is to find something else and try to sue them for the money.

I would contact austin to see if there is something the state can do, or an atty.
-
Contacting a labor board is a waste of time. And even if they do get involved, they will only collect minimum hour pay. If he has proof that wages are owed to him, his best bet is a lawyer who will take the case on a percentage.

I agree with the attorney deal, but he has to have the documents showing the work. i.e.logs.
-
Are they still in business? They deducted child support from my ex and never sent it in to the office of the attorney general. still trying to get oag to do something about it & thats a long drawn out process. Can't afford an attorney right now but looks like its my only solution. PLEASE let me know.
Thanks sooo much! -
I hope he's made a copy of every piece of paper thats crossed his fingers!
I mean from BOL's to scale, light bulbs, oil, anti freeze or anything that costs money along with trip sheets and I know he kept his logs so he can file his per diem!
If he hasn't kept any thing then he's pretty much screwed and I hope he's learned a few lessons! NEVER give any paper work to anyone untill he has a copy for himself!
NEVER let any arse hold money back over a 1 week period!
NEVER jump jobs as I know he has had to learn that grass looks greener but tastes ;like it's been peed on when you get to that side of the fence!
Tell him to get a contractors lean on the truck and equipment and to park it inside of a secure fence. It might not work if he has no proof he delivered a load if he doesn't have a BOL with his signature on it but I'd make a call and tell him that he's going to have the truck and trailer with a load on it towed by a wrecker because it broke down and for some reason the ONLY way it'll start is if he gets all of his pay on com checks and the numbers better be good or it's getting towed and even though he's out his pay and a job, ole bottom feeder is out many hundred dollars on the tow fee! Just be sure he can get home or is at home but I'd just walk away anyway pay or no pay!
Needless to say with his record he's pretty much out of trucking unless he finds someone else to bend him over a tank the way this sleaze bag has done!
If I were you I'd take little bro out behind the barn and knock him up side the head so he'll get his ducks in a row and marching to a better drummer! He needs a little straightening only big brother can do unless Dads still kicking to do a little kicking!
