WI has been using it for some other things. There will be some changes made to that now that the rulership here has changed. The road $$ won't be getting tapped for other stuff.

There was some serious flak about that, and it will happen. This state has been run by the dems in both houses and the gov for too long.

I find this hard to believe. There are people that monitor the sperm count of the blue whale, yet they don't keep track of accidents caused by road mainteinece?

Probably because they wouldn't like what they find.

Like when stop signs are obscured by over-growth.
Or On ramps with poor visiblity and insufficnet run-up room.
Or traffic lights timed to CAUSE congestion.
Or civic planers who's lowest prioity in a road project is to actually MOVE vehicles efficiently though an area.

    Lilbit Thanks this.

I would be willing to bet if it was a truck that kicked up that stone, the driver would have been charged with vehicular manslaughter.

They can recognize it wasn't the 4 wheelers fault, but they can never see when a truck driver is not to blame.

I would tend to agree with this comment. I cant even imagine how all of the parties are dealing with this accident.

Yea, here in WI - our Beloved soon-to-be-ex Governor "Double Down Diamond Jim" has been raiding Transportation funds. They always claim that it didn't "hurt" anything and that all repairs were still budgeted for.

    What a load of BS.

By the way, cities/towns/municipalities are immune from liability for damage done due to road quality. Last year here in WI the roads were worse than swiss cheese...I spoke to my insurance company and a few lawyers about this. I had figured there would be some sort of immunity.
Otherwise, the roads would get top attention - at least one might assume.

Now, if a contractor did the 'cold patch' repair as the article claims, I hope they can be sued. It won't bring back his wife, but if money collected could be put in a trust for the children - then it would be worth it.

    This was sad to read.....:biggrin_25510:
